Can’t wait to see what you have…we all know it is going to be FABULOUS!!!
and myself were discussing this project I was not really sure what I was going to do…fabric? paint?…hmm…??? Then I thought…why not both! We have a special little girl in our lives named Ariel and she is about to celebrate her 3rd Birthday and she LOVES the COLOR PINK!!!!
So with the help of some cool vintage frames that were found by my own Junkin Joe…a stash of pretty fabric…an array of pink shades of paint and oh yes…Joe can cut a mean piece of wood so he was able to make Miss Ariel’s 4 favorite animals…well why don’t I just show you!
This post is brought to you by
the color…
PINK!!!
I don’t want to drive you all nuts with an over load of pictures…so to speed it up — I removed the yucky images in these frames…and spray painted the faded gold into a creamy surface that would not take the colors of choice. The cool thing is once they were spray painted…the Acrylic paint adhered perfectly which saves tons of money — $1.00 a bottle compared to a full can of spray paint x4 is a big difference (I needed 4 shades of pink)
Then I needed…
the wooden inserts and the little wood cut-out animals…sanding required…you want these nice and smooth and then…
Shades of PINK!!! You will need a broad brush and a fine.
Base coat your little animals…allow to dry and then repeat.
Now take your favorite fabrics and and cover your inserts. I used a nice coat of Modge Podge to apply the fabric and simply wrapped them in prettiness!
Time to paint those frames! Two to three coats required : )
Now they are ready to assemble all pretty in PINK!
Take you fabric covered inserts and securely place them into your frame…
now they are ready for some company…
you can use the little animals in a purely painted form or you can add some simple details…I chose some details…then just glue them onto the fabric covered inserts…I used hot glue…yep…good old hot glue does the trick! : )
little Ellie…
dashing Danny…
waves of fun Willy…
and gorgeous Ginger!
put them all together…
a little POP of Pink!!!!
Hope sweet Ariel likes them!
I feel as though we just had an episode of Sesame Street and I hope that is a good thing!
Now…hop on over to see the girls and their creations!
