ATTENTION JERSEY READERS…even though I am not a fan of our governor…he announced that if you have to take refuge in a state shelter to BRING YOUR PETS…if you could spread this around that would be awesome!!!
I have a sweet treat for you today that is so incredibly easy and may I say really YUMMY!
These little guys are prepared in no time!
There is a secret ingredient…
Pumpkin Ale!
They are little Fall Fritters!
Ingredients:
2 Large Granny Smith or Apples of your choice
3 tablespoons of granulated sugar
1/3 cup of brown sugar (packed)
1 teaspoon of cinnamon or 1 teaspoon of pumpkin spice
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of flour
8 ounces of Pumpkin Ale
Plenty of Powdered Sugar
Directions:
Prepare your apple mixture by coring the apple, peeling and then chopping in to tiny little chunks. Add the sugars, vanilla and spice and toss well.
Now combine your dry ingredients in a bowl and make a well in the center…now whisk in the ale or beer in until a thick batter is created. A little bit thicker than pancake batter is desired. If you have to adjust with a little bit more Ale or flour…do it very slowly.
Now fold the apple mixture into the batter very gently. Allow to sit on the counter for about 20 minutes and then you are ready to fry.
You will now need your cooking oil to be about 350 degrees. Gently place a generous tablespoon of batter into the oil and repeat…flipping once during the cooking process…golden brown is what we are looking for. Should take about 3-5 minutes for each batch. Drain them on paper towels or brown paper and give them a heavy heavy dusting of powdered sugar.
Time to ENJOY!
They are so delicious with all of their apple goodness!
These are done in 1 hour…start to finish!
You can glaze them…make a dipping sauce for them or just sprinkle them with powdered sugar…there is no wrong way!
You can use another favorite beer in place of the pumpkin ale if you like or you can use 1 egg, 1/2 of whole milk and 2 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder in place of beer.
ENJOY!!!
Bon Appetit!
Sending
(((((HUGS)))))
To all and to everyone in the path of the storm…stay safe!
