Recycling is a wonderful thing but when you combine it with repurposing and give an ordinary item new life…well that is even more fabulous! Let’s take a peek at some palettes and spools that
have been recreated and look like they could be featured in a Pottery Barn catalog. Maybe there is something here that will get your creative juices flowing. One thing for certain, these projects will not tug at the purse strings!
With no effort…not even as much as a paint brush, these fabulous vintage spools have been used as an inventive way to store and display your jewelry.
A discarded industrial spool with very little work can be transformed into a table in no time!
Sometimes a simple spool base like this…
has a magic wand waved over it and with some love …creativity and some scrumptious fabric…it is transformed to this…
There is simply no end to the versatility of this basestructure.
The top of a large industrial spool can be converted into a clock that most certainly would be a great conversation piece!
Amazing…with some sanding…staining and a wrap of nautical rope…this spool becomes and end table.
Here is something so unique…I bet it might inspire some creations!
This wood cable spool makes a great table base that is perfect in a playroom.
Here is an idea that is pretty brilliant…a cable spool headboard…oh the possibilities!
These fabulous spools also love to be treated to a yummy coat of paint. The Vintage Dormer instantly transforms this one into a shabby oh so chic cottage delight and oh so useful!
Using the frame work of a salvaged spool a more modern approach can be achieved and that equals something fabulous!
A spool shape with a palette construction is made into this fascinating French Industrial ottoman.
Yes…these industrial spools come in JUMBO size and they can be easily transformed into the dining room table.
Remove the top to a spool…work your magic…add some hair pin legs and viola!
You can customize these incredible spools to fit your color decor…with a bit of refurbishing and a coat of your favorite shade…an easy answer to an end table.
Now here is a little inspiration for those of you that won’t be tackling the LARGE scale spool project…love this one and if you like this… click here
it will take you to many other smaller projects that just might inspire you!
Just a few short years ago I use to see piles of palettes just about everywhere…signs that said FREE and now not so much…why? Well I do believe it is because everyone has snatched them all up and converted them all into something awesome!
Let’s start with a cool inspiration piece and then let your imagination run wild!
With a bit of stain and sanding…an industrial palette is a perfect way to create a rustic display.
Maybe modern is your thing!
With a simple choice of legs… a palette can become any style you want…with a coat of paint…it can have an impact of color…this is furniture even I can build!
This is a wonderful idea that can be made to fit any decor…a great place to display your favorite books or a great magazine rack.
How about a display center.
Palettes make a perfect garden especially for those living in an apartment with limited outdoor space…I would love to fill this one up with all my favorite herbs.

Great ideas but please do not grow edible things directly in them. Pallets are treated and these chemicals such as arsenic can seep into your soil.
