What is Take 5 you ask…well it is a collection of 5 things that I think you will all enjoy! It can be themed…random…food…crafts…home decor and everything in between. Hopefully you will love them enough to take 5 minutes out of your busy day… relax and enjoy! Today’s it is all about Stylish Craft Organization Solutions
You know you have tons of craft supplies and sometimes you simply do not know where to put them! I have an entire studio and I am not going to tell you how many other rooms in my house contain (cough cough) “supplies“!
So I thought I would show you some interesting ways to solve a few storage problems today. A few that are aesthetically pleasing and some that are both cool to look at and very versatile for the crafter on the move! For me that means moving from room to room with eaze : )
Now this is an awesome idea! We see old suitcases everywhere…being used from everything from a night stand to a dog bed…
but this idea is PERFECT for the crafter or scrapbook artist on the go or a creator at home!
By taking a simple suite case (by the way…it doesn’t have to be vintage…you can snatch a new one up too : ) you can tailor the design just for your needs…here is a little inspiration from BHG!
By adding little boxes and compartments it makes a perfect place for loose pieces and also open boxes are perfect to stack your spools of ribbon and washi tape. A ruler fits perfectly and then you can have fun designing a craft board. Make some cool little pockets for tags…scissors…papers…then add some little containers with lids and glue them to the board filled with little eyelets…beads…jewels and more! The sky is the limit with all the things you can do for a tiny bit of money and a TON of imagination. So keep your eye out for the perfect suite case…maybe a train case…go new or retro…it will be awesome! Make it work for you. In the end you will be very organized…you can close it up and there will be NO mess and you can take it to the next room or to a friends house to create…best of all crafting worlds!
How about this handy little idea! From wall to desk! This was a pin that did not have a link back 🙁 but it is a wonderful idea. Create a pegboard…attach it to the wall …add some hooks and raid the dollar store for some cute little pails…if they are not the color you want…spray them!!! Don’t deny yourself what you really want…spray painting them is fun and easy! Then start organizing…fill the buckets with pens…colored pencils…markers…do dads and thingabobs!!! Not only does it look cool…you can just snatch up the items that you need…bring them to your working area and create…when you are don…you don’t have to say…where do I put this stuff???? You will know exactly what to do with it and your supplies will be just where you left them for the next day of creating! Inexpensive and Easy!!!
Now here is a really great idea and it looks fabulous! You can find an old medicine cabinet at Good Will…how about a bathroom closet at a garage sale…and old windowed cabinet at a flea market…a brand new bathroom cabinet at any store of your choice…there are so many options and in the end…you can create a storage area that fits YOUR style and decor! I LOVE how the towel rack instantly becomes a perfect home for your ribbons or bakers twine! You can stack pretty quarters bundles of fabric on the top and anything you can imagine in the actual closet…It will become like a little piece of artwork. I think everyone needs one of these…what do you think? BHG has some more cool ideas for this beauty…check it out!
These little pockets to go are fabulous…this is not a sponsored post…I am just sharing them with you because I have some and I love them. The actually use these at a local Art Center for their classes and everyone adores them. I go to my acrylic paints and choose my colors for the day…put them in the main pocket…then choose the brushes and whatever else I need for the project I am working with and proceed to my desk with everything I need…It is really awesome. Also great for other things too…I’m not a beach goer…but it seems like a perfect match…I think it would be cool for the kids to pack for a road trip with all kinds of things to do in the car too! They are great for the crafter/artist any way you slice it!
had a simply brilliant idea…you know…one of those tap on the head…why didn’t I THINK OF THAT moments!!! A simple straw dispenser is a natural for ribbons and especially for washi tape!
How great do they look…I would love 50 of them lined up on a shelf just to look at all the pretty colors and patterns : ) If you are lucky you can snatch them up at the dollar store…they are just such a natural for spool storage right!
I hope these little ideas give your some inspiration or even better…some solutions to your storage needs!
We will revisit this subject again really soon.
