You are going to want to have this Creamy Roasted Garlic Butter ready and waiting in your family fridge from now on…really! It’s a snap to make! The recipe is fabulous for garlic bread … panini’s … veggies … pasta … soups and so much more.
Time to whip up some scrumptious garlicky goodness.
The secret to this creamy butter is ROASTED garlic. The transformation that garlic takes during it’s time in the oven…drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with sea salt and freshly cracked pepper is no short of amazing. The caramelized goodness that comes from each and every clove is a bit sweeter…milder and richer than that of raw garlic.
Let’s get started! All you need to do is roast your garlic…for this recipe you will need 4 roasted bulbs. Simply take your garlic bulbs…slice off a bit of the top so the cloves are exposed…place them on a nice size piece of aluminum foil…sprinkle with a touch of olive oil…sea salt and freshly cracked pepper. Then bring all four corners of the foil together…twist and close. Now pop them into the 450 oven for approximately 45 minutes…check to see if your garlic is nice and soft and has a bit of a caramelized color…it’s ready now!
Time to blend. (be sure to check them…you never want your garlic to burn : )
You will need:
A Food processor or blender
2 1/2 sticks of softened salted butter
4 bulbs of roasted garlic
1 tablespoon of olive oil
Place your butter into the blender or food processor…then squeeze all of the garlicky goodness out of the bulbs in there (be careful not to let any of the garlic paper get in there) …drizzle with a touch of olive oil and then blend until everything is smooth and creamy! That’s it! If you would like…you can add fresh herbs and/or grated cheese. I personally like to add them separately. Place your butter into a pretty little mason jar and you are good to go! It is truly that EASY!!!!
(We have a little texture issue in our household…the guys like things creamy…no lumps of any kind…so that is why this is whipped to perfection…but you can easily make this where there are some little pieces of the roasted garlic still visible…it’s all good!)
Now the fun begins…
slice up some crusty bread and spread! You don’t need much….
just a nice even light coating…make a whole tray of them or just a few…bake for approximately 10 minutes in a 425 – 450 oven and you have delicious garlic bread.
If you are looking to kick it up a notch…why not add some
mozzarella right onto of the garlic butter or maybe your favorite grated cheese and sprinkle with a few fresh herbs when it comes out of the oven. All that melted yumminess will make your family and friends very happy!
How about adding some toppings to that garlic bread!
Chop up some tomatoes…add some finely sliced scallions…a touch of fresh basil…a bit of balsamic vinegar…a splash of olive oil…salt and pepper and you have a little slice of heaven.
How about taking a spoonful of that garlic butter and saute some spinach and then top the bread!
You can saute any of your favorite veggies in a touch of this garlic butter…how about mushrooms and scallions…
some thinly sliced zucchini and red bell peppers…kissed with fresh herbs…
the possibilities are truly endless…how great would these be for a tapa’s party!
Whatever way you spread it…it’s going to be scrumptious!
But it is not just for spreading…as you can see…it adds such flavor and personality to a vegetable saute…it is great on a baked potato…a great starter for a pasta sauce…enhances any stew or soup…perfect on panini’s…
Create your own recipes and enjoy! You are going to enjoy this little creamy helper! Make a batch for a friend…a great hostess gift accompanied with a loaf of artisan bread!
Bon Appetit!
