It’s Sunday so that can mean only one thing…it is time to sit back…relax…enjoy a cup of something yummy and let’s take the home tour of this weeks Cottage of the Week Starring Confessions of a Plate Addict
Every week I get very excited to share another beautiful home tour with all of you and today is no different. The Cottage Market is thrilled to be shining a spotlight on
Debbie From the gorgeous blog
This home is filled with Country French and Provencal Decor that will transport you directly to France.
Debbie is a wonderful…whimsical and extremely talented lady. She was a French Teacher and retired early…moved to France for a year but jetted back home after the birth of her grandson. Now she has 2 more…how fabulous is that! There are more little ones at home… four fabulous kitties…one even flew back from France with her and still speaks French : )
Debbie use to think that plates were just for eating on but has entered the art world of plates now and is hopelessly addicted…hence the name of the blog : ) You can read all about this addiction right here. (I do believe there are enough of us out there to form an international program : ) Deb will make you look at plates differently from now on…her stories are wonderful… will truly fascinate you and bring you tons of smiles!
So without further ado let’s visit Debbie’s home which she says is a reflection of her and filled to the brim with frechiness and she is sooo right and it’s glorious!
When you walk in …you will be greeted with this precious vignette created with thrifted vintage forks…the perfect bow and of course a French Welcome…Bonjour!
First stop…the warm and cozy Living Room filled with a lot of wonderful blue and yellow working in perfect harmony…so very Provencal…but did you expect anything less???
I so love color and this POP of green is amazing…natural pears and an incredible vintage piece in apple green…not to mention the blue and white china pieces.
The mantel is magical…I feel as though I should be sipping wine…eating a croissant and speaking French with just one look.
The highly stylized topiaries are magnificent…the mismatched vase gorgeous but the addition of a trio of simply gorgeous white china dishes is a stroke of genius…this is a tip to write down…remember and use! Makes me say ooooo la la!!!
Thought I forgot to mention the wonderful Frenchy Sheep didn’t you! Debbie had eyed him for a year in an antique shop and what a good boy…he waited for her till she took him home and what a perfect home it is.
The soothing yellow walls combined with this yummy painted chest transports you across the Atlantic and you feel like you are in Paris. A beautiful vignette…a trio of fruit themed plates and that beautiful blue striped chair ties this room up with the perfect bow!
Now the Dining Room…you guessed it…more plates…gorgeous blue Spode China that has been thrifted over time. They give this space so much personality and warmth. Her favorite antique Quimper plates are hanging on the wall as artwork as they should. You can feel the warmth and love here.
I know there are many many thrifters out there…you know who you are…scouring the Flea Markets and Good Will for the vintage finds…well you will really appreciate Deb’s Doggie Find that she displays on the hutch from time to time…visit and get the details.
The buffet right here is waiting to serve dessert and beautifully I might add!
The buffet has many faces that you can experience through all of the enchanting posts.
The tablescapes that Debbie creates are magnificent…I suggest you experience them all : )
The dining room is not only for eating…it is for daydreaming…
Miss Kitty is dreaming of Provence.
Now please don’t blame me if you are craving a warm and crusty baquette …some creamy brie and a croissant! Warning… you will be once you step into the Breakfast Room.
You will experience Debbie’s collection of vintage Quimper plates on the hutch and if you would like to see more of them…take a trip over here.
How about gazing at this incredible collection of clay cookers. Talk about being transported to France in an instant!
Now it is time to enter the Kitchen where I do believe some incredible French Magic happens. Yes…Debbie knew we were coming and she has the warm baquette waiting for us and the fresh farm eggs in the most wonderful wire egg holder (it is just like the one in Monet’s kitchen in Giverny…be still my heart!!!!) The dough bowl was her Grandmother’s …it’s a treasured heirloom! Don’t you adore the history that is behind just about every element of this home.
Then of course their are fresh croissants just for us : )
This gallery style kitchen is just a glorious slice of France.
The Guest Bedroom is reminiscent of a
French Countryside Bed & Breakfast…first you are welcomed by this fabulous frenchy rooster chalkboard…
then you walk into a warm and welcoming room that is draped in luxurious black toile and adorable checks and of course the wall is kissed with …you guessed it…plates!
Looks like Isabella is enjoying the beautiful rays of sun beaming into this stunning room. Don’t you just love that wonderful flea market frenchy chair…fabulous!
The Eiffel tower and vintage books add to the aviance. For more of this gorgeous space take a trip over here.
The Guest bathroom pampers the guest.
I am in love with the idea of the vintage sugar and creamer bowls holding the French milled soaps…it’s BRILLIANT!!! You can enjoy more of the guest bathroom here.
Now it is time to visit the Master Bedroom…it is light and airy and bathed in the most delightful palette of minty creamy green and perfectly pale pinks. The toile is heavenly. Once again…plates take center stage and take note of the gorgeous carved wood element above the window.
Then there is Debbie’s Great Great Grandfather’s plantation desk…I do believe that Marie Antoinette herself would want to pen a letter right here.
Details…Details…Details…make this room amazing. What I really love is that every little piece has a history. Like the Victorian quadruple silver plate master sugar spooner (say that 10 times fast!) and the Victorian calling card holder.
You can sit a bit and relax on this chippy chair with a drop cloth seat…it is crowned by Debbie’s hand made Pottery Barn inspired monogrammed pillow.
What a wonderful home…now it is time to go outside and sit on the patio for a bit and enjoy our morning coffee…you do know that it
is National Coffee Day don’t you! (Not like I need an excuse : ) I do believe I will have a cup of French Roast…I think it is a fitting brew to enjoy at Debbie’s Country French and Fabulous Chateau.
I am sure you have just enjoyed your tour of this gorgeous home…but I need you to know there is more behind what you see than Debbie’s talents…she has the best staff on the planet…I want you to meet them…
then you can go and get to know them all…they all have a story to tell and love to give. Debbie…applause and appaws for you and your love of animals! You can also help fill the bowls of shelter kitties with a few easy clicks…it really does help: )
Debbie also invites you to experience a slice of French living…
take the tour
that is if you want to be transported to France and feel as though you just enjoyed a stay in the countryside!
