- Pour ¼ cup of syrup (4 tablespoons) into the bottom of your mug
- then pour about 2 ounces of Cream Soda and stir
- now add the rest of the soda ...stir
- add a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream
- Top with homemade whipped cream (1 cup of cream placed in a chilled bowl and whipped to soft peaks)
- Pop a straw in there and serve the magic...it is that easy...if you don't have time to make your own butterscotch syrup (you only need 5 minutes : ) you can use a prepared butterscotch or caramel sauce : )

My kids will flip when I make this for them. We went to Universal Studios last spring and hit the Harry Potter area… we had Butterbeer for the first time and all four of us fell in love with it! Thanks xoxo

Hi, does the one pint of cream that you have listed INCLUDE the cup for the homemade whipped cream? Or is the whole pint for the syrup? Thanks!
Andrea says
Hi there Patti! How are you : ) I am so sorry that I was not more specific…it is for the syrup : ) Then I wrote whipped cream without a recipe. So you will need additional cream for the topping. SO SO SOrry about that. Sure hope you enjoy your Butterbeer, I just wish it had no calories so I could drink it every day! Hugs and have an amazing day!
Patti says
Thank you! One more question…you also say “remove from pot and add your vanilla” – there’s no vanilla in the ingredients list, and I don’t think you mean the ice cream because that comes much later. Is there supposed to be vanilla in the syrup? I’ll probably get this reply too late for today’s party but so I know for future…thanks!

Hi! This recipe sounds delicious, but what size are the bottles of Cream Soda? Are they 2 liter, 20 oz, or something else?
Thanks!
Andrea says
Hi there Anna! How are you : ) I have to tell you first hand this recipe is really yummy! Each bottle was a single serving of 12 ounces…a regular size bottle that Root Beer…Birch Beer and Cream in a 4 pack : ) Sure hope you enjoy!!! Here’s wishing you a magical weekend!!! Hugs…

you never answer what vanilla goes in the syrup.
Andrea says
Hi there Regina…I am so very sorry! It is 1 teaspoon. Thank you for your patience and I sure hope you enjoy your Butterbeer!!! Sending hugs and wishes for a wonderful day!
