Some good ones that I wish I had when the kids were young. I’m jumping around – bananas: I only buy a couple since I’m alone but I tried the aluminum foil hack to keep them from over-ripening (wrap some foil where they attach). Dogs – I live in New England and my door faces north so I’m blasted all winter. I have a beagle so there are times when she needs her coat. It’s too open at the neck & sometimes the snow is too deep. I stopped at a thrift store and bought a couple of kids’ t-shirts and a balaclava (cost me about $3) and it solved the open neck and kept her tummy dry – she stays out longer now. Cleaning the house – I don’t have a dishwasher so I handwash dishes. Every night (since I wash once a day), I wipe everything down – the microwave, top of the stove, dry mop the floor, the fridge. It keeps the dust down.
Love the idea of the plastic baskets!! I hate my spice rack – there’s no back and the jars fall over. I’ve been looking at magnetic holders but they’re pricey. My stove is next to the fridge, too, so this is ideal!! No more falling jars and frees up counter space.
So glad I found this site – Thank you

Hi there Lesley! How are you over the pond? Hope all is well with you and yours and of course your precious little Beagle (If you start following this blog… one thing you will find out about me is I LOVE dogs and all animals!) What is your pups name? So happy you enjoyed some of the hacks and thrilled that you were able to solve the open neck problem to keep that little tummy dry on your precious pup! That is great that you got some good ideas to help you! YAY! Guess what? I don’t have a dishwasher either… I didn’t want one and I didn’t want to give up precious kitchen cabinet real estate either! So I too am always washing things down 🙂 I am thrilled you found my blog and so happy that you are enjoying it! Let me know what you would like to see… always open to new ideas! You take care now and have an amazing evening – sending hugs! Cheers!
