Hi everyone! How are you. Hope you are all doing fabulously! Well I told you that I would keep you informed with what was happening with my health. The stomach situation seems to be doing much better. Almost all healed…my new shorter intestines seem to be strong which is a good thing lol!!! I have one more visit to be cleared. Now I told you all that I was going into NYC to NYU Medical Heart Rhythm Center and I did. It was a good experience…the Doctor was pretty amazing and everything was dealt with “ultra” care. After all the tests were reviewed and well considered it looks like my next step in the HCM Disease/Ultra Afib is to have an ablation…which is a procedure that will take about 5 hours and hopefully they will be able to deaden some of the crazy whacked out heart electrodes so they don’t connect together and put me into a tail spin. Now I was warned it does come with risks (so I need your thoughts and prayers) and it may not work which would mean I would have to do it again since I have extinguished 95 percent of the meds out there. The only other alternative at that point if the second one doesn’t work is to stay on Amiodorone which is a great for the Afib…but not for the rest of your body if you consider your Liver and Lungs important! I would have to be closely monitored if I spend decades on this drug…but let’s hope that the Ablation works : ) I will be having the Ablation on September 15th which is a Friday for extra good luck : ) Thank you all for caring and thank you for sharing all of your wonderful creations with us each and every week! Love you all!

Hi Andrea, so happy to hear you are feeling much better. I just had a left atrial cryoablation and a right atrial laser ablation done in March 2016. I have to say I was quite nervous about having it and I’m a retired cardiology nurse. I knew all the risks and benefits but it took a lot of talking by my cardiologist and electrophysiologist to convince me I actually needed to have it even though I was having symptoms from the afib that were causing me problems. I had also exhausted most of the antiarrhythmic drugs due to intolerance. I was really only able to take flecainide which was not strong enough to control the afib. I can say I had a long recovery but most of it was due to the fact I had to be on Sotalol for several weeks after ward and basically, my body hated that drug and fought it all the way. When I was finally able to come off of it I slowly started returning to normal. I have to say that having this procedure was the best decision of my life. I have been afib free now since it was done and I am feeling much better and able to do my daily routines without all the effects that afib gives you. Plus I’ve been able to get back to blogging again. I was just recently released from my electrophysiologist so I consider that to be the end of afib. I just pray it never returns. I will be praying for you if you have any questions feel free to email me – I’ll be glad to answer them .

Hi there Cathy! How are you. I wanted to thank you for all of your thoughts…prayers and information. I am so incredibly happy for you…it has to be AMAZING to get your life back!!! I have had reactions to everything and nothing has worked for long and the afib attacks have gotten out of hand. When I wound up in the hospital in March…it was a really hard one…the rate went from 30 to 168 and just kept doing it…I FAILED SUDORAL and they had to put me on Amiodorone which is a HARSH drub but WOW does it work. Since I am too young to stay on it we had to come up with something else…so it is the ablation…just hoping it works on the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopothy Heart…the success rate is lower…but I am hoping and praying. You have made me feel so much better with your note and I will be writing you soon. I pray that it never returns to you too…it is truly a nightmare! Thanks for sharing your heart…sending hugs…love and wishes for a picture perfect weekend!
