it will be…but whenever a long dog comes into my house I have to smile…
a cute little face…
a long body…
put it all together and you have a keeper!!!
GOT MILK???
This was really a cool find! It is from an old dairy from North Jersey…very close to where I live…I did a little research on it and found out that the Dairy was built in 1918…
They developed their milk business and delivered door to door milk to residents and they also placed “convenient” milk machines throughout the area at that time…
WOW…this was sooooo progressive for the time wasn’t it? I didn’t even know that these existed during that period of American History. Just thought I would share my little piece of history with you. Where the dairy use to stand is now a housing development but there is a bit of a happy ending. The barn was reconstructed from the original and is now a big Ice Cream barn and half of the space is used by a Community Church!
He’s a really cutie pie! After a little research I found that this is indeed a vintage Tramp toy from the Disney movie Lady and the Tramp. He dates back to the early 1960’s…he decided to pose with the other little toys JJ brought home…
how about a tin race car and a little bit of Skee skill…
it still works…the plastic is a little cloudy but it is totally functional…did I ever tell you that I am a pinball junkie!!!! Now if JJ could bring home a vintage Pinball Machine…maybe an Indian Jones??? that would be the ultimate find…also a bit of a video game junkie but I have been clean for awhile ; )
Of course JJ always feels the responsibility to bring us pretty roses and that he did…
the details are soft and sweet…
trimmed in gold…
and perfectly pretty…another vintage piece of Americana!
A little dove flew in also…
pretty detailed wings…
delicate features…
classic Lenox
the condition is fabulous…
it makes me want to collect them…feeling a bit soft boiled at the moment!
Note to my reader friend Nancy…We are sending you tons of hugs and Get Well Wishes…can’t wait to hear from you : )

Wow, Joe sure has a nack for finding vintage!
When I was growing up in the 60’s and 70’s, my brothers collected insulators they would find laying around out in the country where we lived. I bet they wish they would have hung on to them now!
I think it’s a great idea to sell your stuff! I plan to do the same some day. ♥

First of all, your Big Cartel shop is a great idea! Secondly, my dad worked all of his life as a “telephone man”. He climbed many, many telephone poles and collected a lot of insulators. I have a few of them. I am going to check out the insulator website–thanks for the info. Hope you have a lovely weekend!
Hugs,
Tresa
p.s. thank you again for the lovely graphics. I can’t wait to use them!

I love that you shared the history of the milk bottle and the dairy it came from. I once found an old rootbeer bottle from a bottling company in my town that I never knew existed. I donated the bottle to our little Daughters of Utah Pioneers Museum. Some of us got together and pieced together the history of the bottling company and did a fun rootbeer exhibit at our Open House…serving homemade rootbeer. The history of everyday things is often more meaningful than people realize. I can’t tell you how much I loved learning about that milk bottle. =D

Checking in to see what Joe has found ! I love the floral sugar pot the best this week. Very pretty.
I remember my Uncle having one of those little tin cars. When I visited his house as a child he would let me play with it. I love old tin toys.
