Now let’s whip up a batch of this yummy Movie Night Brittle
- 2 tablespoons of softened butter to grease your cookie sheet
- 2¼ cups of sugar
- ¼ teaspoon of salt
- 2 cups of a medley of potato chips, pretzels and peanuts
- ½ cup of water plus 1 tablespoon
- First you will butter your rimmed cookie sheet.
- Pour your sugar into your medium sauce pan (preferably not non-stick)
- Add the water and salt
- Stir well
- Place on high heat for 3 minutes...do not touch or stir...just let it boil for 3 minutes...it will have the slightest little golden tint to it.
- Now set the burner on medium high and cook for an addition 7 - 10 minutes stirring every minute or so
- You are looking for a golden color...NOT a DEEP Gold...I just want you to know that there is a fine line...as soon as you see it a golden color...you are ready and take it off the store : ) It happens between 7-10 minutes so just keep your eyes peeled.
- Spread the snack mixture on the cookie sheet
- When the mixture is ready pour the mixture slowly and evenly over the snacks and then with a buttered spatula...press down to insure coverage
- Allow to cool
- Break up in pieces
- Place in the container of choice
Time to see what my friends have been up to!
