Vol 2. Welcome friends! I am going to be doing a little something new on Saturdays. The Cottage Market in the early years (aka…before I knew any thing about blogging lol) had a little segment called Down The Rabbit Hole. It was a collection of random links that I found throughout the week that I loved and think you will do. So I thought it was time to bring it back New and Improved, because I am going to be adding a little Giveaway each week…a little something that I found fun and thought you would like. The items are not sponsored and are purchased directly by me to send you a smile. My approach to this New Year is living more simply and putting more emphasis on the “little things” and the important things in life like kindness…compassion…health…family…love of animal…charity…well I think you get the picture… So on Saturday’s sharing some fun links…sending someone a smile with a token of my appreciation will be the norm. You can enter the Giveaway by simply leaving a comment. There is another very important facet to Saturday’s Down The Rabbit Hole…for EACH comment left The Cottage Market…aka myself and my family will be donating $1 to a deserving charity each week which we will announce and be accountable for…so let’s leave those comments . Tell us what your favorite things are and spread the love. The Cottage Market is also making a personal pledge to donate 5 percent of our net earnings to Charity this year…it’s a way of giving back and that is so very important to us. So come on in an enjoy…spread the love and maybe win a little something cool while donating to charity. Scroll on down to see this weeks FUN Giveaway! This week we will be raising money for Almost Home Dachshund Rescue. This one is near and dear to my families heart. We have always had a dachshund in our lives and this amazing Rescue does such an incredible job saving dachshunds and other breeds from horrible situations. They bring them into their homes where they get them all taken care…shower them with love and then find them loving furever homes. We have adopted 3 super perfectly imperfect pups from them named: Mr. Jiggs and Pops and Basil (a father and son pair). We were blessed by these to wonderful for words pups and we will be forever be grateful. I know that every dime of donated money is used for these special pups…a fabulous rescue that deserves ton of APPAWS and APPLAUSE! So leave those comments my friends…we have a lot of helping to do : )

Love what you’re doing! Dottsies are great dogs. We have Chihuahuas and German Shepherds here for now, but there’s always room for more!

With things in the world feeling so upside down it is comforting to get the unconditional love from a pet. There is nothing that can replace that feeling and they are deserving of all we can give.
Cindy B says
These are absolutely gorgeous! The shape of the cup, colors and patterns are eye catching! Bless your heart, another reason to love Saturdays.

Oh I love what you’re doing with your Saturday blog! Very special…and one of the things I love doing is giving “experiences.” We have given our kids GCs to movies, restaurants, etc in order for them to have time out with their spouses or friends. So that’s one of my favorite things – giving experiences to those I love.
Kim says
This is such a great idea!

I have a soft spot for any charity that helps unwanted and unloved dogs. My Havanese is my best friend and helped me get through Chemo last year by always being by my side. This is a wonderful project and I’m also looking forward to seeing your Saturday posts.

Even if I would not win this mug from anthropology, I would be heading to a store when I visit my daughter and get her on with a “K” on it. She would love it, as it is her favorite store. How do you notify people if they win. Just wondering because of all the concerns about people messing with our emails. Thank youi

I love your blog and I love that you will be donating to a dog rescue group. I etch glass and give etched drinking glasses to our local food bank to give to seniors. Many of them do not have families close and the glasses give them a gift that brings a smile to their face. I also love to drop a “I miss you” cards with GC to my grandsons who do not live here.

So pleased to see a rescue for Doxies. We lost our Matilda Jean last spring (she was half Doxie, half Beagle) and our hearts are still broken. We are once again thinking of looking for a new furson to join our my husband and myself. Some may say that they are the furson’s owner but we know better… they own us and our hearts as well. Thank you for the love.

Will be looking forward to this each Saturday. What a great cause you are donating to this week. I can understand your love for dachshunds they are great loves. We have always had a cocker or a rat terrier and at the moment we have both. Our Cocker Libby is 14 this month and she has always been the happiest dogs. They are both our loves.
Crystal Young says
Those mugs are gorgeous! And what? Dachshunds need to be rescued? They are the most adorable dogs ever, who would ever give one up or be mean to them? I had dachshunds when I was growing up and when I retire and can stay home, I hope to have one!

We had a golden retriever for 16 years! He was so amazing! I feel very lucky that my children were able to have such a wonderful pet to grow up with. He stayed around until my daughter was senior in college and my son was a junior. I am also a 4th grade teacher and he loved to go to school with me. He was always in the class picture! <3

I don’t usually leave a message just to win a prize but I love Monograms. I have them in every room of my house. Oh wait not in the bathroom. Need to change that soon. But any way I love these mugs and will keep my fingers crossed I will win. And love the fact my message will help a good charity.

What a way to start the new year and to be donating so much to charity is truly inspiring. Growing up my family had a Doxie and then we had a terrier named Jiggs.

All my pets have been rescues. I think they make the best pets! On another note, after seeing the crocheted rug I am convinced I need to learn to crochet. I have the fabric scraps, the cordage from the thrift store, and hooks I inherited. Can you recommend a good tutorial?
