If you would love to enjoy some Fabulous Home Decor DIY Projects…then you have come to the right place today. We are mixing up The Cottage of the Week a little bit by taking a closer look at some of our past home tours, their incredibly talented owners and the home decor diy projects that make their houses a home! So you saw the end results but you might not have seen how they did it…well that is going to change today. Bet once you experience their spot on DIY Tutorials and see the end results again you are going to want to get the hammer…the nails…the paint and CREATE!!! So sit back…enjoy a cuppa and enjoy.
My very first Cottage of the Week Home Tour featured Karianne from the one and only Thistlewood Farms. A lot has been happening over there on the rolling acres of Kentucky since we visited last as many of you know. There is this one DIY that I think everyone in the world should see…it is brilliant and guess what…it really is easy and very cost effective (I am telling you the TRUTH!) The end results are high end and very trendy. Also you can customize the technique to your own style and color palette! Interested? Then check out how to create The Shim Wood Bookcase and make one for your home! I know that I am strongly considering pickling the shims in 5 different complimentary colors…I am telling you the possibilities are endless.
Here is another piece of Thistlewood Farms that can be made by you in a relatively small element of time and if you are working in budget constraints…then this is perfect for you. You might have to go on the hunt to your favorite Flea Market or Good Will for the perfect down trodden table that needs and upcycling lift…but for some reason I don’t think that would be work for most of you : ) Then stock up on those paint sticks…yes those glorious little pieces of wood that just 5 years ago you treated with disregard…you used them and disposed of them without a thought! Now…they are a precious commodity…who knew right! Karianne gives such picture perfect steps to achieve this beauty…you can do this with NO problem! So stock up on those sticks and make a Paint Stick Table Top. It’s like having a little piece of Thistlewood.
If you loved the Paint Stick Table then I think you should be checking out the post that includes 4 more great furniture projects that you just might want to add to your list of DIY things to do! Thanks Karianne for all the inspiration you give us on a daily basis…you are a Rock Star!

Then there is Gina’s charming …whimsical and just plain fabulous wall of numbers that I give a TEN!!! She shows you how to collect many similar elements and then display them picture perfectly! Thank you Gina for inspiring us each day and truly making us feel as though we can DO IT!!!!
