Though IKEA’s prices are low and very affordable you can still save money with these Easy IKEA Shopping Hacks! From Kids Eat Free to Starting at the Exit and so much more…
IKEA is a haven for those who are renovating or redecorating their home. Not only do these giant retail stores have a large number of furniture and household items, their prices are quite affordable too. If you’ve been to IKEA, you already know how much fun it is to shop there. This big blue store has everything you need to fill your home: From the bedroom to the living room, and the kitchen to the bathroom and beyond. Even though their prices are low, you can still save even more when shopping at IKEA. If you’re planning to visit the store any time soon, make sure to use these IKEA Shopping hacks! Ikea Shopping Hacks.
Price Check
Before you head to the store or if you’re planning to make a big purchase, make sure to check IKEA’s Offers Page first.
You can also do an online price check to see how much you’ll be spending once you’re in the store. This will also ensure that you’re getting the best price.
As-Is
One person’s trash is another person’s treasure — this saying applies when shopping at IKEA too.
If you’re not particular about buying a fully polished or disassembled piece, you can explore the As-Is Section where you can find pre-assembled products at cheaper prices.
The Moving Program
If you’re moving to a new apartment or a new home or even if you’re still planning your move and intend to make a big purchase, take advantage of IKEA’s Moving Program.
You can sign up for the program and get a $25 off coupon on your next purchase of $250 or more.
When Not To Shop
Avoid shopping at IKEA during July and August, especially on the weekend.
During these months, you’ll be shopping along with college students and their parents who are looking for mattresses and desks for their new dorm rooms.
Don’t shop during May and June either. During these months, prices are the most expensive of the entire year. If you want to save money, wait to make your purchases until December, which is when prices at IKEA are the least expensive.
When To Shop
Monday Morning… rise and shine and head towards IKEA… that is when they have the most items available in their AS IS Section!
Weekly Specials
Be sure to check out the signs above all of the items… there are random weekly specials that are identified and why not take advantage of them!
The IKEA Family Member
Signing up for the IKEA Family Member program not only gives you free coffee and tea in the restaurant, it also offers exclusive discounts on selected items.
Other than the special discounts the program offers, which are usually around 15 to 20 percent off, the program also offers a 90-day price protection (in cases where the price of your purchase has dropped), Buy 1 Get 1 yogurt, and even a chance to win gift cards.
Start Shopping At The Exit
Instead of starting at the entrance, start at the exit. When you enter the store at the exit, you’ll immediately see the warehouse where the prices are slashed. You can still explore the store even if you started at the exit, but since you’re starting in the discounted items section, you’ll be saving more money.
Take The Shortcut
If you are shopping with a purpose and want to save time… be sure to pick up a map of the store so you can map out the shortcuts to where you want to go. Otherwise if you follow the route … the store is laid out that it will take you to every section. On those days you want to just hang out and check out everything… that is the route to take!
The Registry
Did you know that like other retail stores, IKEA also has a registry, in fact they have a few?
If you’re expecting a baby, moving to a new home, or preparing for a wedding, you can find, create, and manage a registry at IKEA.
Shopping at IKEA can save you a lot of money if you know the tips and tricks. Be sure to use these hacks next time you head out to find great deals and the big blue store.
Kitchen Utensils
If you are addicted to Kitchen Utensils like I am… don’t forget to shop for them when you visit. They are all in one area and you will be totally amazed what you can buy for a dollar or less! If you are in need of a wok with a handle… I picked one up about 5 years ago (they still have them) and paid $4.99… I am still using it! There are specials going on in that section all the time so check it out.
Kids Eat Free on Tuesdays
Did you know that your children can eat free at the IKEA Restaurant on Tuesday… well with a purchase of 1 adult meal… 2 children can eat for free!
