These Diy Farmhouse Style Wood Photo Blocks are so very easy to make and truly look amazing! You can make them in any color or stain… embellish them or not and you can change photos in a second… really!
Be truthful now… how many photos do you have that you want to frame and display but simply have not done it yet? I could be that frames are so expensive or you just haven’t found the time… the right mat… the right frame and the list of excuses goes on. If this does not apply to you… APPLAUSE!!! But if it does I have the perfect quick… easy… budget friendly solution! These Farmhouse Style Wood Photo Blocks are so versatile! They can be created in any color… stain or you could use your favorite paint treatment from crackle to distressed! Or you can go a more modern route with solid colors and maybe a small metal embellishment? When you find out how easy they are to make and that you can customize any and I mean any size you want you are going to be addicted to making them! So come on in and i will show you how to make these little cuties!
Let’s start with the supplies! You will need wood blocks… the size is up to you. You can use 1 inch wood or 1 1/2 inch wood… Paint… Embellishments of choice or not… paint brushes, scissors… glue gun… sand paper and twine. That’s it!!!
First Measure the size you want you wood and simple make a straight cut. Then it is time to sand nice and smooth.
Now it is time to paint! The choice is yours my friends. Just a little tip… if you love the sanded worn edges look… using chalk paint makes it much easier to accomplish… but all the other paints work with a little bit more elbow grease!
Time to sand those edges or not!
Now it is time to wrap. Simply find your starting point… tack the twine down with a little bit of hot glue… let it dry for a minute and then start wraping as much or as little as you want. It usually takes about 3-4 yards but it all depends on the size of the frame… so I highly recommend wrapping from the roll of twine and cutting when you get it right where you want it.
Once you wrapped it… secure it with another little dab of glue and add your embellishment if you want to. It can be a wood embellishment… buttons… flowers… metal embellishments and everything in between! Oh the possibilities.
How cute is this! Well my little buddy Kieran is cuter than the frame… but it’s a close second!!!
I love that you can adjust the frame size… I mean where can you find a frame that fits a mini Poloroid in the color you love (the answer is NO WHERE!!!)
You can create perfect little or big Vignettes that have your decors vibe in no time at all!
Mix up the wrapping style for a bit more interest and texture!
I so have to find little wooden paw prints for all my dog photos!!!
School Photos can be changed up in a second!!! Your frame grows with them!
