Architectural Salvage
You can’t even begin to know how incredible some vintage Gingerbread Moulding from a Victorian Front Porch can look on your walls till you see it displayed! How absolutely amazing does that look! There are so many ways to show off the incredible beauty and whatever way you choose it is going to be the highlight of that space for sure. You might also want to check some Salvage Yards if you have them in your area. You never know what little bits you will find. Just keep you mind open and your imagination on high gear as you search the piles. Keep your eyes peeled for Lighting Medallions… they are my favorite… they make such wonderful wall art and more.
Vintage Mantels
You will be surprised how many Mantels you might find at a large… good Flea Market. You could actually get a little overwhelmed and become a tad indecisive (Ok… I am referring to me but I assume some of you suffer from the same indecisive disease???). Well… I am just saying that you should look at them all very closely and truly think about what you want. You will find some that are sleek and very plain… if you seek a Modern Farmhouse look or a Scandinavian Farmhouse look… that is a style that would really work well. Now… on the other hand… if you have a more Traditional Farmhouse Look in mind or even a Cottage Style feel… you would look for a little bit more ornate piece. One with some wood details…etc… When you are making a Mantel with detail over… paint really shows up the details. Or do you want the Mantel to be the showcase of the room… then go for something over the top. It is a big decision and one that is going to take a front and center spot in your room… so be sure to take your time and get what you really want! I can’t tell you how many times a see something and say OMG… I will never find anything better than this and then about 4 booths down I do lol!!! Enjoy the hunt!
School Desks
A Vintage School Desk is such a fabulous addition. Sometimes it is strictly ornamental… and sometimes it adds style and services the needs of the little ones! How great would this look in the Play Room or Family Room??? There are all different styles… explore the selection and be sure to look at them closely to assure that you will be able to give it the magically makeover your heart desires. Who knows… you just might find one that is perfect as this one. One way or another… This piece guarantees instant Farmhouse Charm! This beauty did not come looking like this… it needed some TLC… so be sure to come on over and see how Handan & Greg worked there magical makeover… great tips, techniques and ideas! Botanical Artwork
Many of you that frequent Flea Markets know that there are tons of old framed pieces of art. All different subject matters… all different sizes… shapes and style frames… a plethora of goodness. How about starting a Botanical Collection and each time you visit… try to pick up at least one more piece… sometimes you might even hit a major score. Once you have enough for the gallery you want to create… start putting them together in all different ways until you find the one you love the most! Recreate it on the wall and trust me… you will be in love. I enjoyed the way this one is being displayed onto of salvage windows… adds a ton of character and dimension. I picked Botanicals because they are one of the favs of Farmhouse lovers… but you can do this with any other subject matter that you love. So much fun and will give you a very rewarding end result! Remember… if you don’t like the color of the frame… paint is the answer!

Decorating with Glass Bottles
Another item that there is a Plethora of at the Flea Market is Glass Bottles and Jars! Tall ones… short one… stout ones… thin ones… in between sizes… ornate… vintage… crystal… with color… clear… with pantina and the list goes on and on. This is another thing that so many people love to collect… you know that fulfilling feeling you get when you find something that you love and that will add to your collection? It’s even greater when it is totally budget friendly. Some people collect by color… just imagine the shelf filled with a variety of frosted green and blue bottles like this one. Add a single flower… a bouquet or just leave them in their natural beautiful state. Small groupings on shelves… a part of a vignette… so many ideas and whatever you choose to do with them… it is going to look incredible.
Church Pews
Now here is an item that I personally have wanted all my life and to this date I do not have one yet… but I know one is coming up soon! I know it! A Church Pew is an item that can be used in so many spaces in your home. The first place I think of is in the Entryway or Mudroom…picture it with some fabulous throw pillows with a gorgeous plant along side of it and maybe a line of baskets underneath with chalkboard tags! Or… how about creating seating at the table with a beautiful pew… that is what I want mine for! An instant seat for 4… LOVE IT! They also make a great piece in the family room for extra seating. Crates
Flea Markets are filled with new crates… old crates… big crates… small crates… advertising crates and everything in between. There are so many uses for them it would take me hours to make all the suggestions. I have a feeling you all know an endless amount of uses. I personally love this idea from Donna at Funky Junk Interiors. You can visit her and she will show you how she turns a crate into a display piece with an additional shelf… In this case it works as a Mini Coffee Bar! Then of course they are picture perfect pieces for storage of all kinds! Just think of all the things you can do with crates and I bet you will be loading some into the car on you next visit!

Vintage Suitcases
Vintage Suitcases are a great addition to any Farmhouse Home! You can make a desk… how about a bar… my favorite… a dog bed and they make incredible storage! Don’t you love how these suitcases have been stacked and used as a Night Table. Just think of all the things you can store in those! I love a double purposed item. I have a little tip… if you purchase an old suitcase and it has an odor… take a pillow case and fill it with scentless kitty litter and put it in the suitcase and close it. Let it stand there for a week and then when you open it… the suitcase will smell much better!

They there is the flat ladder which instantly turns into a blanket holder… or add baskets to each rung as storage… it even works as a place to store your magazines… how about heeled shoes… jewelry… the possibilities are truly endless!
