Hi there and welcome! Today I have a little Holiday DIY for you...fun and easy and one that the whole family can create together!
Who doesn’t love a sweet and pretty
Candy Cane…that Sparkles!
Let’s make some
Candy Canes!
What will you need?
Paint color of choice…2 different size wooden beads….24 gauge wire or any wire that will hold a bend…embellishments…glitter…ribbon…scissors…snipper…Mod Podge and your own creativity!
Preparing all of your beads before you assemble is oh so important.
For an easy quick method…pop your beads onto a disposable skewer and paint till coated just right…you can also use your trusty blow dryer to speed things up! Paint them all and get them ready to sparkle. For those of you that are glitter faint of heart…no worries…you can create right now : )
It’s time to add a layer of fairy dust!
Simply apply Mod Podge to the beads and roll into the glitter…place on a board and allow to dry for 15 minutes and then you are ready to bead…shape your wire into the size Candy Cane you would like…put a dab of hot glue at the end so the first bead is in place and start beading. End with another little dab of glue and viola…you are done!
Add a bow and get ready to hang your little creations…or how about using them to decorate packages? The possibilities are endless. I am sure the kids will have some ideas on the color combinations!
They shimmer on the branches!
You can color coordinate with your ornaments!
Have fun trimming the tree!
