Morning!!! It’s Friday all ready…can you believe it! It seems as though this time of the year gets crazier all the time so it is really nice to sit here in the early am…with a cup of yummy coffee and visit with my friends! Today is Day 6 of…
Hosted by
and a band of other fabulous bloggers!
check it out and enjoy!
Today’s little project is for all of you
Coffee LOVERS…I am in that count for sure and a bunch of my friends share the same addiction!!!
So here is my little
Java Ornament Tutorial!
I have to tell you…I found this adorable little
expresso set at Home Goods…$5 for a 6 piece set…fabulous deal right and then I had this idea that they would make such great ornaments for my coffee loving friends…so there were 2 sets…I got one for ornaments and one for our expresso!
All you will need are the cups of your choice (adorable with tea cups also! 🙂 I was actually thinking of miniature sized cups too…styrofoam ball…cut in half…styrofoam for the inside of the cup (cut to fit)…flowers of your choice…I just loved the combination of browns for this one and obviously you can see why and hot glue…such a clean little project…
Cut your styrofoam ball in half…then snip your wire stems to about 3/4’s of an inch and create your pattern…
The greatest thing is is if you don’t like the design…just remove the flowers and start again…
keep going until all of the little nooks and crannies are filled and full…
Here is the finished look… I placed a tube of styrofoam into the cup and trimmed it right to the top…then I hot glued the pretty half ball with all the flowers to the top of it…then added a pretty bow and hanger to the handle…attached the saucer with epoxy glue and viola…a perfect ornament for the coffee lover in your life! Here’s a few more designs…the possibilities are endless…
Larger flowers make for a quicker project : ) and then you can fill in the little spots with smaller flowers and you get…
Feeling like a brew just about now! I am on my second cup…
Just like a real cup of coffee…you can personalize each with a little bit of a twist on pattern and flavor!
This is for someone that enjoys their java light…
All lined up and ready to serve when the company arrives!
Hope you enjoyed this little tutorial…it is an easy project and one with minimal mess. The possibilities are endless…color schemes…selection of cups…with or without saucers…anything goes…but maybe when you are in the thrift shop you might look at these little expresso cups in a different light…they make great gifts all year round…tell me that they wouldn’t be adorable hanging on a knob in the kitchen! Just remember…let your creativity soar…there are no rights and no wrongs…just fun!!!
ENJOY!
Sending Tons of
