- 1 egg
- ¾ cup of mashed banana's (approximately 1 and ½ bananas
- ½ cup of peanut butter
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- ¾ - 1 cup of milk
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- ¾ cup of crushed dehydrated banana's (reserve ¼ cup for the tops)
- ½ cup of bacon bits
- 2 cups of whole wheat flour
- 1 cup of oatmeal flour (all you have to do is process oatmeal in your food processor till it becomes a flour...it is that simple:) or you can just use 3 cups of whole wheat flour
- ¼ cup of oatmeal
- (this is a very friendly dough...if it seems to dry...add a bit more milk...if it seems too sticky...add a bit more flour...your dough should be a nice consistency that you can roll easily and cut out shapes)
- Preheat Oven to 325 degrees
- Ok...I used my standup mixer but you can do this by hand also
- In a large mixing bowl whisk together or mix on low the wet ingredients...milk...peanut butter...egg...olive oil...banana's until smooth
- Add in the flours and baking powder and mix on low till you have a nice cookie type dough
- (this is a very friendly dough...if it seems to dry...add a bit more milk...if it seems too sticky...add a bit more flour...your dough should be a nice consistency that you can roll easily and cut out shapes)
- Fold in the crushed dehydrated bananas (reserving some for the topping) and your bacon bits (reserving some for the tops also)
- Flour a work space and roll the dough out to approximately ¼" thickness and then cut into the shapes your pups will enjoy.
- Brush your treats with an egg wash and sprinkle them with the crushed banana's and bacon bits and lightly press the toppings into the treat
- Arrange your cut treats on a parchment lined cookie pan and bake for approximately 30 minutes.
- Depending on your oven and can take more or less time so please keep an eye on these yummies. You want them to be nice and golden brown and crunchy!
- Remove them from the oven when they are done and cool them on a wire rack
- Then store in an airtight container and what I do a lot of times in pop them in a ziplock and freeze them...that way I can keep them fresh up to 3 months and take them out as we need them.
