Good Morning! How goes it with everyone today! Hope you all have a picture perfect day today!
Today I have a little tutorial for you. About 2 years ago I use to sell hand cut dress forms in my other etsy shop PopaliciousToo (hand cut by Joe…my husband : ) not me…I am officially allergic to power tools…well that is if I want to keep my limbs with me! We sold tons of them and have requests for them almost every single day. Then unfortunately I had a little delay (emergency brain surgery). We won’t go into the craziness that stirred up in this families life but alas the dress forms were no longer. Now the good news, as you can see I am doing much better (thank God) and Joe started making them again for me and for the first time I actually made one so I want to share it with you. It was fun actually making something with our own item! The undecorated forms are available in my PopaliciousTOO etsy shop!
Taking Dress Form!
A little bit of snips and scraps and viola! I was lucky enough to find this wonderful W page in the dictionary…now if I only scanned it!
This is the base form
Nice and sturdy made from 1/2″ mdf
Here is what I used…but as you can imagine…your only limitation is your imagination…so the possibilities are endless and you don’t need much of anything at all!
I simple painted the sides…the stick and the backs of the form and the base…I chose black for this creation but once again the possibilities are endless!
Then I decoupaged the fronts with vintage dictionary paper. I applied modge podge to the front…applied the paper and smoothed it out…let it dry for about 5 minutes…trimmed it and then lightly sanded the edges for a clean and smooth finish!
Then it is time to create! Just apply all of your decorations with you favorite glue or adhesive strips and just let your creativity out! You can make these from card stock for your scrapbooking creations also…so many possibilities!
Sweet and Simple
