Morning my friends…how goes it today! It’s is really Friday and it is time for a new episode of
Junkin Joe!
He has a very varied lot today! His mission was to mix it up a bit and not spend too much! I have to say that his little feature here on The Cottage Market is mounding…really! So he did come back with some interesting finds and very diverse!
See what you think?
Now that group puts the “E” in eclectic!!!!
Well…usually I save the best for last and maybe in some opinions
it will be…but whenever a long dog comes into my house I have to smile…
it will be…but whenever a long dog comes into my house I have to smile…
a cute little face…
a long body…
put it all together and you have a keeper!!!
GOT MILK???
This was really a cool find! It is from an old dairy from North Jersey…very close to where I live…I did a little research on it and found out that the Dairy was built in 1918…
They developed their milk business and delivered door to door milk to residents and they also placed “convenient” milk machines throughout the area at that time…
WOW…this was sooooo progressive for the time wasn’t it? I didn’t even know that these existed during that period of American History. Just thought I would share my little piece of history with you. Where the dairy use to stand is now a housing development but there is a bit of a happy ending. The barn was reconstructed from the original and is now a big Ice Cream barn and half of the space is used by a Community Church!
Another doggie came home but without his Lady…
He’s a really cutie pie! After a little research I found that this is indeed a vintage Tramp toy from the Disney movie Lady and the Tramp. He dates back to the early 1960’s…he decided to pose with the other little toys JJ brought home…
how about a tin race car and a little bit of Skee skill…
it still works…the plastic is a little cloudy but it is totally functional…did I ever tell you that I am a pinball junkie!!!! Now if JJ could bring home a vintage Pinball Machine…maybe an Indian Jones??? that would be the ultimate find…also a bit of a video game junkie but I have been clean for awhile ; )
This little racer has a touch of rust but so so much character…
Not sure what we are going to do with these interesting finds…I am feeling some kind of vignette coming on???
Here is another little piece of aqua Americana…
Now I know nothing about insulators but I do know many people collect them…so if you are one of those people…I think you will find this link really interesting: Identify your Insulator
It is really cool! You put in all the information — then pictures show up and you can basically nail the origin and date! I am going to give it a try later! I will let you know. One way or another…cool find!
Of course JJ always feels the responsibility to bring us pretty roses and that he did…
the details are soft and sweet…
trimmed in gold…
and perfectly pretty…another vintage piece of Americana!
A little dove flew in also…
pretty detailed wings…
delicate features…
classic Lenox
I just adore this piece also…I have to do more scouting around to find out the origin but it is hand painted and I am positive that it is vintage…
the condition is fabulous…
it makes me want to collect them…feeling a bit soft boiled at the moment!
Well I asked for eclectic…he surely served up a banquet of that!
His tip this week is to USE YOUR PHONE! If you really see something that you think might be that diamond in the ruff…try to do a quick search about it if you can…it could prove to be a very worth while thing or it might save you from spending money that would be much better spent!
Note to my reader friend Nancy…We are sending you tons of hugs and Get Well Wishes…can’t wait to hear from you : )
We have been asked by many if we would be selling some of the items from JJ’s adventures…As you can imagine…there are many beautiful items but how much can you use in your home! I was very hesitant about all of this! But we finally figured out how to offer some of JJ’s finds…a lot of thought went into it because we wanted to pass them on at a fantastic price so…we started a little Big Cartel shop…one that just holds 5 items at a time and NO others but my readers know about it and you will see that the prices reflect that…so it seemed fair : ) Hope you enjoy it! These are the items that are there now : )
if you want to check them out…just go to
Well my friends…hope you enjoyed this little adventure and stay tuned next Friday for another
(((HUGS)))
see you tomorrow as we fall down the Rabbit Hole!
