I thought it would be fun to check out some Imaginative and Creative Decorating with Flea Market Finds. I wanted to share some of our most favorite bloggers creative genius and how they transform discarded and forgotten items into something incredible. It’s funny how something old…shabby and sometimes even rusty can look like junk but when it is placed in the perfect space it looks like a million bucks. So let’s take a little trip and see how some of our favorite friends use these Flea Market Treasures.
You are going to enjoy this little tour over at BHG… each room is filled with Flea Market and Thrift Store Finds! The owner of this home Natalie, sold her Dining Room Set when she spotted this amazing $60 Farmhouse Table at Goodwill… I mean how incredible is it! Then there is the $60 Chandelier which she embellished with wood garland… not to mention the upcycled door with Thrift Store finds being displayed and other items that make this space so very Farmhouse Cottage Charming! Come on over for more inspiration. You just never know what you are going to find… 90 percent of the time… your Thrift Store finds are much better than new. So much personality… so original… so inspirational…
Over at Houzz… you can visit the Interior Design Page of Alison Kandler where you will find tons of Flea Market Find Decorated Rooms. Each one is unique… but I simply adore this one. Just by collecting a Thrifted Table… some Chairs… a piece of Vintage Art… well the room becomes a one of a kind Funky Farmhouse Space. Look for chairs that have potential… mixing and matching looks awesome. Check for little items that will bring character and charm to the space. If you find a piece of art and you don’t like the frame… you can always get a new frame! If you tune into the Buffet… you will see that they are displaying a collection of colored bottles… there are so many bottles in your Thrift Store and Flea Markets. Just by lining them up… they can steal the show. Such a fun room.
If you have come across different trays at a Flea Markets or Thrift Stores and really loved them and didn’t know what you would do with them… this idea over at BHG is Cottage Chic Farmhouse Fabulous! You can create a Gallery wall with them or add them to a Gallery Wall. Keep that in mind because it will make such a unique and stunning addition to your wall space.
This Pin I found that does not lead to a direct source shows how you can collect different pieces of artwork from Flea Market and Thrift Store visits in all different styles and sizes and create an incredible Gallery that can continue to grow and grow. You can pic a certain subject matter to collect or be eclectic! So many possibilities!
You have to take a visit to this instagram Cottage Flea By The Sea… it is filled with all kind of ways to decorate with Flea Market Finds! How about this vignette of Canister and various other Finds. Oh so Cottage Chic! You will really enjoy this site if you love Vintage finds…totally inspiring.
First we are going to visit Liz Marie. All I can say is her last two Flea Market Hauls have been amazing. My favorite find of all is the triple drawer piece that is aged and distressed to perfection. (Isn’t it fabulous when the piece you find is exactly what you want as is!!!) Liz fell in love with the piece and displays it on her counter with a simple little vignette (the number sign on top is also a find). She hasn’t decided what she is going to store in it…but I am sure it will be special. Now this is not the only incredible find she was able to unveil…when you drop by you will see all the other goodness. Don’t you just adore this open shelving masterpiece? Enjoy yourself because Liz does have some super finds like hooks…crocks…clipboards and more. They are all being used and there are pictures that will truly inspire you and give you tons and tons of ideas! ENJOY! (ps…Liz…I am glad you are feeling better : )
We are now dropping by to share some time with Lauren from Bless’er House. Lauren was looking for something really special for the wall in her Dining Room so she collected some Thrifted Mirrors (you can find tons of Mirrors at a Flea Market) and proceeded to think about how she was going to create the perfect Gallery Wall. She used her standard trick (it is so helpful) and got together with her Mom to seal the deal on how it was going to be done. When you visit you will find out all the secrets and tips you will need to create your very own Wall of Beauty! Trust me…you are going to be on the hunt for all kinds of mirrors!
Flea Markets are filled with all kinds of Vintage Crates and Boxes. The next time you are walking the aisles of treasures…keep a look out for crates that fit your home decor because when they are put together they can be fabulous storage and they will create a wonderful display. It’s great to find crates that have imagery on them…vintage advertising…it adds to that amazing Farmhouse look. It is also wonderful to find items that don’t need a lot of work so you can get them in use as soon as possible : ) You will find more info over at Interior Design Ideas.
It is always fun to start a collection just like Elsie did over at A Beautiful Mess. In this instance it is all about Colored Glassware. I personally adore this idea and this look. I also love the fact that every time you are at a Flea Market…Thrift Store or Garage Sale you have something specific to look for and then go home and add to that ongoing collection. It is so rewarding. Even though this collection is picture perfect…there is always room for 1 more…always! Is there something you love to collect? Have you ever thought of displaying your collection in a special way?
Larissa from the amazing blog Prodigal Pieces is always creating with Thrift Store Items but today she snatch up a Vintage Screen Window at a Flea Market she went to. She immediately had a vision for it and she made this gorgeous piece of Farmhouse Wall Art with the simple addition of doily flower holders and flowers. It’s perfect! Bonus…she shares how to make these beauties so if you run into a Screen Window…you can add some special touches.
Vibeke Design is always sharing amazing Vignettes…here is one where she uses a Vintage Scale Flea Market Find and decorates her counter with an incredible Vignette. Just take a close look and you will see this collection is made up of every day items such as silverware…and old tray…a Vintage tin…each piece is nice but when they are all brought together…MAGIC! All of those odd pieces you snatch up at the Flea just might love to create a Vignette that will live in perfect harmony somewhere in your home. Get all of those little goodies and look at them all together…you just might be surprised what you might come up with.
When KariAnne from Thistlewood Farms visited the Nashville Flea Market she came across stack sea stacks of shallow crates. Of course she snatched up a bunch and when you brought them home…she organized her Kitchen Space. Come and see how simple crates can create an incredible Farmhouse Style Organizing System. You just might be looking for crates the next time you head out to the flea market and don’t forget the Vintage Silverware : )
Traditional Home shows us how a number of Flea Market Finds can come together and become the star of a space. Just look at this beautiful Antique Chest. The aged Patina Mirror Find created a perfect marriage. There a million and one perfect marriages just waiting to happen and I bet you could be a wonderful Match-Maker.
Jamie over at Anderson + Grant took on a challenge. She could only spend $50 to create a something really special and that she did. She rounded up some pieces (you have to go see them) and then worked her makeover magic and this happened. Looks like a Pottery Barn Limited Edition doesn’t it! She will teach you that if you happen to find something you love and it is broken…many times the piece can be fixed…so look long and hard and think before you leave it behind.
When you visit Ella Claire you will meet her friend Alicia and her Husband. They love scouring the Flea Markets for special treasures and today they are going to show you how they took their finds and created this Whimsical Farmhouse display. From Vintage Windows to Vintage Toolboxes and other items binding it all together…you will be totally inspired. I never stop being amazed how much can be done on a budget. Don’t miss out on this one.
BHG shows us how some unrelated Flea Market Finds come together to decorate this oh so pretty Vintage Piece of Furniture. First you have an old Chip Bag Holder that was converted into a Jewelry Display…then a Flea Market Mirror and then different Milk Glass Containers that hold all kinds of little accessories and gets them all organized. They were all born to be together! This little arrangement not only looks great but is totally functional. The best of all worlds.
Before we end for today…after scouring Liz Marie’s Blog like I do many times…I have a lesson to share with you. When you are at a Flea Market and a Vintage Chicken Feeder presents itself for a reasonable price…don’t walk away because it is pure Farmhouse Magic as you can see!
