Good morning friends! Hope the day is treating you with a smile. Can you believe it is Friday and that August is almost over…Labor Day is less than 2 weeks away…EEEESH…when did that happen??? Can’t say I am not going to be sad to see those temps of high 90’s go away and my central air will be able to at least take a breath lol!!! No lie…it has been running NON STOP since May! So excited to see all the Fall creations …decor and recipes!!! I know we will see tons of great ones right here at A Morning Cup Of Joe. Can’t wait to see what you have for us today. Joe and I want you all to know that we appreciate you…we thank you for visiting us each week and we love you all!
Now for the Tip of the Week. This is one that I have been thinking about for a little bit and I have been reading more about it and I think I have to make the commitment to do it. What you ask? To create a Mission Statement. Everywhere I read they highly recommend it. It helps people know you better…know what your blog is all about …what you want to share and where the blog is going. The thing is…is it is not as easy as just writing a few sentences…you really need to give it some thought and formulate it. When people read it…they should hear the passion…heart or love you have for what you are doing. I am going to set out to write one and update my About Me Page which sorely needs it…but sometimes we just forget about it or put it off. It’s a good thing to do before the final Quarter of the year! You can put the Mission Statement on your Me Page or under your picture if you have one in your left hand column…you can even put it at the end of each post…it’s all good. Here are a few examples of some BIG Time Mission Statements that I hope will give you the feel of what I am talking about.
The mission of Best Friends Animal Society: To bring about a time when there are No More Homeless Pets. We do this by helping end the killing in America’s animal shelters through building community programs and partnerships all across the nation. We believe that by working together we can Save Them All.
IKEA: “Our vision is to create a better everyday life for the many people. Our business idea supports this vision by offering a wide range of well-designed, functional home furnishing products at prices so low that as many people as possible will be able to afford them.”
Starbucks: With our partners, our coffee and our customers at our core, we live these values:
• Creating a culture of warmth and belonging, where everyone is welcome.
• Acting with courage, challenging the status quo and finding new ways to grow our company and each other.
• Being present, connecting with transparency, dignity and respect.
• Delivering our very best in all we do, holding ourselves accountable for results.
• We are performance driven, through the lens of humanity.
Hope these give you a little bit of a guideline …direction and most of all inspiration!
Let me know what you think of this idea…is it something you might like to add to your blog? I think it gives people a little sneak peek into the “inside” of you and your blog!
Sending tons of hugs and love to all and now…Let’s Get This Party Started!
