My husband recently went through this. He had both congestion and the dry unproductive cough. A couple of drops of eucalyptus on the soles of his feet immediately covered with cozy sox just before bed helped with both. He found that keeping that throat sensation at bay, you know the one that happens right before you start hacking up a lung, was helpful. He accomplished this with these three things at various times of the day, a teaspoon of honey, some fisherman’s friend extra strong lozenges, and a concoction of my own creation. I’ve got this serum and a boosting mist that I mix together in my palm and put on my neck and décolletage so I thought that if we added 2 drops of eucalyptus to this and rub it on his chest that that might help. It does. Be warned, it might sting your eyes for a few mins, especially if you use too much eucalyptus. Hopefully something here will help.
Hello my friend! How are you! I just read all your tips and tricks and will be adding the eucalyptus to the soles of my feel TONight!!!You are both right… keeping that horrific dry cough at bay is a BIG thing!!!It’s just so funny that you mentioned Fisherman’s Friend. I just remembered how my Grandfather would use that all the time and give me one as a “treat” not exactly my idea of a treat lol… but I do remember that it use to clear things kind of like a tablespoon of hot Chinese Mustard… Horseradish and Hot Sauce do… so we got some and it has helped all ready!!! Very underated!!! I will also try to chest creation… I am a Vicks person so I am sure I can handle it 🙂 thank you so so much! Hoping these tips get me closer to the end!!!! Sending tons of hugs and love your way!!!! Have a great one and thank you for taking the time to share! So greatly appreciated! HUGS!!!

The dry cough is the WORST! What ended up helping me is my doctor prescribed an inhaler. I don’t take one regularly but it helps quell the cough that won’t stop.
Hi there Suchot! How are you! You’ve got that right. this dry cough is absolutely the worst. I am still trying to figure out how I have so much YUCK in my nose and the dripping down my throat yet my cough is as dry as the desert!!!Thank you so muh for that great suggestion! Getting my inhaler delivered today! Just knowing I have that for when I truly can not get my breath for too long of a time makes things better all ready! Thank you for sharing!!! Sending hugs and love your way! Have a great one!

Hi there Kim! You are so welcome!!! You have a fabulous week also!
Thanks for the feature, Andrea… always appreciate it! Have you tried the Bee Keeper’s Propolis products? They really do an amazing job for us! You can order online or check your local Target.
Hi there Julie! How are you! Sure hope everything is good! I see the weather reports and they are scary!!!! Please take care of yourself! Thank you for the tips!!! Greatly appreciated!!!! I will tell you… my Grandfather always took these disgusting cough drops called Fisherman’s Friend and would always make me have on lol!!! Well I am so glad that that memory of my nose feeling like I ate a tablespoon of horseradish came to mind because they have helped a bit! That is one cough drop you can take and NOT want to eat another one for the heck of it lol!!! Sending hugs and wishes for a wonderful week!!!! Thank you as always for your kindness.
So sorry you are still sick Andrea. Try a couple tablespoons of honey in hot water. Also if you boil lemons and garlic cloves in water and add some honey it can sometimes help relieve the cold symptoms too. Good luck. Thanks for having us all over today.
Hi there! How are you! Thanks for the tips! I am going to do the boiled lemons and garlic TODAY!!! I have been able to get beeless honey… so I will use that in the blend! I guess I should add a breath mint while I am at it lol!!!! Hope all is well with you and yous! Thank you for taking the time to help! Sending hugs and wishes for an incredible week!
Of course I enjoyed your features today, especially all the chocolate, but I wanted to give you some other suggestions for your cough. Make sure the humidity level in your house isn’t too dry. Tea, honey and lemon are all good to try as different items seem to work best for different people. I also add soft peppermint puffs with real peppermint oil, like Red Bird or Bob’s. Most sites say vegan but you might check with makers. Alternatively you can use the peppermint oil in a steamer to inhale. The Covid cough is awful! I hope you are over all of this soon.
Hello my friend, how are you you? Sure hope you … Pip and the gang are well. Thank you sooooooo much for the tips… greatly appreciated. Because of you hubby found that our new furnace has a built in humidifier which was not turned on or prepared… well it is now 🙂 I am also using the peppermint oil puffs… even a few drops right to my chest! I am now doing the steamer! You are so right… this covid cough is the WORST! I really never cough but now it’s a full time profession. The dry cough though is horrific Thank you so much for all the wonderful suggestions!!!!! YOU rock my friend. Please send everyone BIG HUGS from me and wishes for an amazing week!
I’m so sorry to hear your not feeling well. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Hi there Virginia! How are you! So nice to see you! Thank you for the well wishes. Hoping in another week this thing is TOAST lol!!! Hugs my friend and have a fabulous week!
Thanks for hosting! I am going through the same thing with a terrible flu that turned into a head cold at the end! Ugh!
Hope you feel better soon!
Hi there Amber! How are you! So sorry you are going through this… it really is a pain in the butt!!!! Hope you feel like new really soon! Sending hugs and wishes for a fabulous week!
I hope you feel better soon, Andrea! I was sick with it this fall and the neti pot really helped me with the nasal congestion. For the cough, my brother suggested shredded ginger root and honey. Wishing you a quick recovery!
Hi there Lynne! How are you! I am so sorry that you went through this… it’s a real downer! Thank you for your tips… Your brother and I are on the same pages… been microplaning ginger like crazy! Thanks so much for caring.. it is greatly appreciated! Sending hugs and wishes for a wonderful week!
