Hi everyone…sure hope your week has been a great one. Have you all caught the Fall bug yet? I know I have…I celebrated with Pumpkin Spice Latte…if that doesn’t say Fall I don’t know what does. What are all of you guys doing to add Fall into your lives? We can’t wait to see all the new Seasonal Creations coming in…it’s so exciting…fun and inspirational! Everything you do is loved by us and we thank you for dropping by each and every week!
How about another little Blog Tip? Not exactly this week…I am going to share a Pinterest Story with you. Ok…a do a lot of pinning on a regular basis. I do all of my pinning by hand which is supposed to be really loved by Pinterest. I am not going to lie to you…I get about 70 percent of my 1.5 million hits a month from Pinterest so you can see why it is really important to me! Ok…I digress… I have always pinned by the rules and thank God I have had no real problem…glitches and such but nothing heart stopping. I have seen a friend of mine have her entire account disappear…I mean GONE… it took her 1 full month to get it back and constant correspondence with Pinterest. Finally one day it was all back which of course we are thankful for but a month is a long time. I have heard about CRAZY stories…I mean over the top and couldn’t understand how that could happen… well first hand experience happened last evening. I sat down to pin like I do every night at 7:30… only this time I started with a dear friend of mines blog…I went directly to her blog and proceeded to pin about 6 of her posts. Sounds normal right? Well all of a sudden…I looked up and ALL…I repeat…ALL of my pins were gone…all 130,000+ …enter HEART STOPPING MOMENT!!! Ok…MAJOR Panic Time. I checked everything…clicked everything…went to every board imaginable…went through all the things it could be on Pinterest Help Center. I found one thing that it might be…it says when consecutive pins from one blog/website come quickly that could block your account…REALLY??? um…yes! They also said to wait 1 hour to 24 hours to see if it comes back…there was no way I could wait without doing something! (by the way I got a message that I might have inappropriate material on my blog…well we all know that is not it…lol). So as I was writing my crazy lady letter to Pinterest…offering them my first born (only kidding) to get my account back …my son says …it’s BACK! OK…had to get my breath and try to lower my heart rate and think like a normal person. Even though I was so happy…the fear of God had been put into me…I mean…what if it was gone…what if I didn’t have Pinterest as a showcase for my blog…the answer to that question is NOT a pretty one and is why I am sharing this story with you. The chances are low of forever using your account but they exist…even loosing an account for a month could be devastating and as “they” say..It CAN happen to you and I found out the hard way. So…I am going to spend much time on the back end of my blog working diligently on my SEO…reworking Key Words…adding new elements to posts…redirecting and yes…even deleting. It’s not an easy thing to do when you are talking about 4000 posts but it is a must…I can’t have that happen again. Guys I was scared out of my mind. My friend advised me to do affiliate posts to boost income and to have something to fall back on and I will be doing that. I never really did it much so not to annoy readers… but I think I will do it a little bit now and see how it goes. I am going to work much harder on my mailing list to keep it growing at a fast pace and many other things. I will keep you posted on what is helping to raise that Google number. Don’t get me wrong…I love Pinterest and I appreciate and am thankful for what it has done for my family and I… but alas… in the end you have to back yourself up. It’s kind of like not evacuating for a hurricane…you can stay and see what happens …or you can go and be safe (all of you that are in harms way…we are sending you all tons of love and prayers). So please learn from my experience and give yourself a back-up ok! I will talk more about all of these things more as weeks go by and if something else happens…you will be the first to know.
Disclaimer: I did not proof read this at all! I just came out this way lol!!!
Sending tons of hugs and love to all and now…Let’s Get This Party Started!

Hi Andrea – Happy Pumpkin Spice Season!!!! It’s my favorite. Obsessed, I tell you! So sorry to hear about what happened on Pinterest. I hear these SEO/DM type people talking about focusing on one social media platform. You have to diversify these days. You never know when one of these platforms is going to shut you down or change their algorithm. So scary! Wishing you a happy week of #PSL everything! Hugs, Holly
Scary stuff! It’s never good to put all of your eggs in one basket, as they say. I really like that pumpkin from Sadie Seasongoods and I feel like the repurposed chair is speaking to me…do you know why? I am going to have to think about something. Thanks for featuring my Zombie drink…do you like your brains shaken or stirred? 😉
Nope…eggs should not all be in one basket for sure : ) I know what that chair is speaking to you…I am sure that you are going to find the perfect thing to honor that very special rocking chair! As far as my brain preference…since “scrambled” isn’t an option…I am going to pick “shaken” since that matches the way mine feels most days : ) Sending hugs and wishes for a wonderful weekend…sure hope the kids are doing great now!
Great information about Pinterest! I had no idea that could happen. Thank you so much for featuring my pumpkin camper, It was so much fun to make. Thanks, too, for hosting the party.
Andrea thanks for all your tips each week. They are invaluable! Have a great weekend!
Wonderful features, Andrea! Love that Zombie Drink from Marissa at Squirrels of a Feather… and the decor from Leanna at Faeries and Fauna! Have a wonderful week!
Thank you for hosting this opportunity to bring bloggers together and share their posts. I look forward to your party each week. #OverTheMoon #WWBlogHop #ThursdayFavoriteThings.
Hi Andrea – you share such important info each week – who knew that could happen on Pinterest !!! Thank you for your wonderful Morning Cup of Joe – love the features, so many good ideas, crafts explained and great food presentations. Love visiting and joining in.
Joy
Always love seeing you here Joy! I am happy if anything that I experience can help or at least make some one feel as though they are not alone…it is worth penning it! Sure hope you have an amazing weekend!!! Sending tons of hugs!
Thank you so much for including my mantel in the features this week!
Been there done that! My P account was suspended for a couple of weeks due to “inappropriate content on my blog”. I guess food porn is naughty, lol. It hurt my blog majorly and I will never get those two weeks back. I also had an instance just the other day where in the middle of pinning my board disappeared (could be the same night yours did, lol). I know exactly the feeling of sheer panic you’re talking about. I think I was about to pass out, lol. And just as I was looking around to find answers it came back. Phew! That’s why they always say to cultivate your mailing list. All social media can decide one day to close down, but you’ll always have email addresses. So glad you got yours back. What a wake-up moment, huh? Hope your weekend is free of unwanted surprises. Hugs!
Jas…I totally feel your pain! I mean…I just did not know what to do… I was in a cold sweat…shaking…heart rate on the rise and like a deer in headlights I didn’t know what to do…all the horrific stuff was flashing in front of me…I mean SCARY TIME…a real eye opener for sure. I am taking HUGE measures right now to do something about everything.. it is going to take some time… but I am going to do it. Have to have some kind of insurance on this thing lol! So sorry that it happened to you… 2 WEEKS…I would have been out of my mind I tell you…out of my mind! No… you are right…you will never get those 2 weeks back and it is crazy what an outage like that costs you… just the short period of time I had cost me and I am just getting back to where it was before it happened… that’s just crazy! I nope it NEVER EVER Happens to you again. That is crazy with the food porn…I think they should sharpen their keyword sensors …geez!!! Bottom line…you are not a person when it comes to these sites…period the end… there is no one behind there caring about your business and your well being and the sooner we realize that the better off we will be! So for me…it is going to be all about the SEO from now on and going back in time to strengthen those other 4000 posts on my blog LOL!!! You take care now and have an amazing day! Hugs…
Your blogging tips are always such a great addition to these link-up parties, thanks so much for always doing them! I’m new to the whole pinterest/blogging game, but I can imagine that was so scary when so much traffic comes from there! Wishing you a relaxing weekend with more no surprises! 🙂
Hi there Tiffany! How are you. Thank you for the kind words. I just figure I might as well share…you never know when it might help someone : ) But that Pinterest scare was and OMG MOMENT and NOT in a good way! Since you are very new to it all…please be very mindful to build that mailing list and to build good solid SEO …be very mindful of your keywords too : ) Sending hugs and wishes for a wonderful week!
