When did it get to be Wednesday? Well here’s wishing you a wonderful one! I was thinking yesterday that it has been awhile since I did a quick and easy tutorial…so when my daughter Heather asked me if I could make her some Anthropologie inspired earrings the light bulb went off and I put the two together.
I was determined to use items that I had in my house to make them and that I did. The supplies I used are: filigree pieces that were snapped off from ring findings, large resin roses, small complimentary turquoise roses, brass jump rings and kidney shaped earring wires and some pretty beaded charms that we pre-made waiting for me the perfect project. All of these supplies are readily available just about anywhere now…Michael’s and of course Etsy is a fabulous source.
First step is to simply attach the flowers to the filigree with your favorite jewelry glue and allow to dry.
Then I added the little jump rings and attached the two pieces together. Couldn’t snap the picture and show you…but you simply open the jump rings using the jewelry pliers…thread through the tiny opening and then close shut.
Now you repeat the jump ring process and attach your earring wire by threading it onto the jump ring and give it a pinch to close. Also repeat and add the jump ring to the bottom of the earring in the center and then add the dangle charm and pinch shut.
There you have it…a pair of earrings completed with an Anthropologie flair…also inspired by Prada…they are using a lot of large resin roses in their designs and I happen to be fortunate enough to have a nice selection of them so there are other earrings in her future…come on when your kid actually thinks you are in style what’s a mom to do? : )
I’ll keep you posted with any new techniques I happen upon while experimenting.
Look around your crafting supplies and see what you have…look deep inside those little stashes…there are projects screaming to get out!!!
Create and have fun!
