Denise literally shows you how to use old thrifted glass pieces as your base (brilliant) so save this preserve jars that are rounded… they can be your next pumpkin lol! Dining Room Table and Chairs – Miss Mustardseed
I included this today because Marian makes a great point here. She found a Dining Room Set for $40 (I personally thing that is amazing!) Of course she was a little weary of it but she purchased it. A lovely style but not exactly what she was looking for! She cleaned it up and dressed it up and it is now sharing that room with an incredible China Cabinet until the perfect table and chairs comes along. Sometimes there is no real makeover… just a little bit of fussing! You don’t have to marry the piece ad having a stand in makes it so much easier to wait to find the right one for you and your family! So maybe instead of having an empty space till the furniture of you dreams comes by… you can get a place holder… enjoy it and then pass it on when the right one comes along! I love the way it looks with the cute check tablecloth and stacked dishes!
Vintage Secretary Makeover – Confessions Of A Serial Diyer
Christy is here with her latest creation. She saw this piece awhile back but it had too many issues for $49. When she went back it had been marked down to $34 so she grabbed it! It had some water damage… scratches… cracks in the veneer and a few other little issues. Now we get to watch this piece come to life… it starts with a good cleaning… always a good cleaning with Christy’s favorite blend! Then watch the magic happen! One thing I have to add about transfers is that they do cover a multitude of evil and I know you know what I mean. So… when you see a piece that you are not too sure of… think about what it would look like with a transfer… would it bring out the best and maybe camouflage some flaws? Enjoy!
