Cottage of the Week: Town and Country Living

First things first…here’s wishing everyone a
FABULOUS FATHER’S DAY!!!
Now it is time to sit back for a minute or two with a cup of something yummy and enjoy
The Cottage of the Week.
Starring

First things first…let’s meet Jennifer …a wonderful and creative spirit that lives where the suburbs meet the country.  So her and her family enjoy the best of both worlds!
I have to share a picture of the whole family!
Jennifer and her husband live in a beautiful Victorian Cottage.  Jen has a passion for old houses, the older the better is her philosophy.  This stately lady was built circa 1875.  I found it very interesting to learn that her first house was a Sears Catalog home built around 1920.
So let’s knock and visit for a bit…
The home does not have a designated foyer...but Jen designed a functional and fashionable area to enter before going into the home. I personally adore this space.

 

There are many charming little touches here.
The one that is just spectacular is the decoupage art on the desk.

Comfy & Cozy.

Jen shares some ideas on how to handle a quirky layout of a room!  She seems to have mastered it perfectly.

 

 

 Welcome to the Family Room.
I am in love with the blanket chest coffee table!
Every where you turn the decor invites you to stay!  Someone looks very comfy!
Did you see this great cabinet…
well Jen transformed this simple Ikea piece into a real beauty…but you must check out what is inside…amazing right!!!  There are many changes coming for this room…so drop by and check it out!
Look at that!  She baked for us…if you want to make these
yummy Cocoa Pink Cuplets your self…she shares her Mom’s recipe.
A lot of cooking happens in this wonderful Farmhouse Kitchen.
Jen’s favorite place to show is at flea markets and as you can see…she has an incredible eye as the new and the old blend seamlessly into her decor.
Every space it cheery and welcoming!
Now here is where dinner is served.  Jennifer is a pescetarian so many scrumptious vegetarian meals adorn this table and on occasion a bit of fish!  Jen needs to stay very healthy…she is currently training for her 6th marathon!  AWESOME!

A perfect place to share a meal.

 

Oh the first floor bathroom is a delicate breeze from days gone by.
Just look at the tub and the claw feet.  Jen worked her magic on this beauty.

    I have been following Jennifer’s blog and she is as sweet as her home. She lives in my neck of the woods and I hope to meet up with her some day soon. Love all her special touches in her home.
