Cottage of the Week: The Vintage Farmhouse

 I would like you to meet Nicole from The Vintage Farmhouse.
She has graciously invited us into her home today.  A 100 Year old
Farmhouse that her and her husband have been rehabbing for the last 4 years on a very tight budget!  She is a mother of 3 young children…has a flock of chickens for yummy fresh eggs and as you could guess…she is busy busy busy!
The Vintage Farmhouse is a work in progress but has gotten the attention of Vintage Charm Magazine, Romantic Homes, My 365 and many large blogs and when you see it you will know why.
Let’s take a look at this grand lady…the Farmhouse that is!
  she is wonderful!
Almost everything in this home has been thrifted from yard sales…thrift stores and curbside treasures. Nicki lives by the words re-use, recycle and re-purpose!
As you enter the living room…one thing is for certain the love of white is everywhere you look and it is wonderful!
Nicki’s decorating role model is her dads bosses wife.  When Nicki was growing up, she would go over to her house for sweet tea and cake. Nicki fell in love with the white…crystals and French style in her decor.  Now it is the heart of her own decor.
Ruffles and a touch of pink enhance the romantic vibe of this room and oh that Armoire is simply gorgeous.

The Dining Room is elegant and the white seems to dance off the dark hardwood floors.
How beautiful this piece is…accented with such beauty.  I adore the gilded birdcage that is housing a collection of vintage plates.
 This skirted beauty is a perfect touch!
A vintage collection of milk glass is yet another head turner.
Yet another mannequin graces the room…perfect in her pearls.
The kitchen has that oh so French feel.

 

The black wrought iron adds a wonderful contrast to the bright whites.
The mirror is a work of art and a very unique touch.   As Nicole says…go with what you love and that is exactly what she is doing!
There are gorgeous accents throughout this lovely kitchen..
Vintage beauty around every corner…
I love the crystal knobs.
The bedroom is filled with vintage charm…ruffles and that French feel!
The bathroom has an eclectic blend I know you are going to love.

You will find delightful vignettes throughout the home.
And touches of whimsy in every room.

 

This brilliant idea for toy storage looks amazing in her sons room.
