It’s time for the first Cottage of the Week Home Tour of 2014. This is a home I know that you are all going to enjoy…it has been a labor of love from the day the family moved in over 19 years ago and it continues to be to this day. A classic decor is the focus with vintage touches throughout. Between the magic of paint, the power of fabric, little remodeling projects (no major renovations) and a lot of love and talent from Anne…this sweet house became a loving home. Come on in and let’s meet Anne and her family On Sutton Place.
Meet Anne and her family…don’t you just love it when the doggie is in the picture : ) You are about to see how Anne created her classically vintage home to where it is today on a budge! Don’t you just love hearing those words…”on a budget”. You are going to see that it is possible to work within the constraints of a budge and you can do it too. Drop by to learn more about Anne and family and then…you have to check out her Etsy Shop: Sutton Place Designs, it is filled with amazing classic home accessories made by Anne…wow what a talented lady!
Before we go in…let’s sit on the front porch…and what a wonderful…comfy cozy one it is. White wicker chairs against the beautiful brick…soft throw pillows…a mason jar filled with fresh blooms when in season…you know that this house is filed with love.
The door is open for us…just maybe we might get a little bit of a sweet aroma of something really yummy…Anne is an AMAZING baker.
Here we are in the entry way of the home. In the Spring of 2012 Anne decided that the carpet had to go along with the dark wallpaper so with a whole lot of elbow grease…I do believe that an amazing transformation happened and you can experience it right here along with the reinvented stairway…it went from drab to fab!
Charming touches and wonderful shutter doors invite you in. I love how Anne really did combine three home decors into one…classic…vintage and farmhouse…I am coining the phrase right now…I believe it is the trifecta of home decor!
Don’t you just love the family gallery wall on the stairway…I wish everyone could have one!
Ahhhh….the living room has one of my most favorite things…a plate wall surrounded by two gorgeous yellow toile chairs (don’t you love the yellow check pillows…the perfect whimsical contrast to the chair pattern). The dresser piece is dreamy and kissed with the perfect accessories.
Let’s take a zoom in on that plate wall! As you can see…the space changes throughout the seasons.
One thing is for certain…Anne is very detailed oriented and she loves to show the changes of seasons with her fabulous accessorizing talents!
The soft cushy couch pillows are just calling our name to sit a bit and enjoy the room. The grain sack stripes give that special farmhouse touch while the surroundings are still oh so classic and vintage.
Such sweet touches of Spring…I can only wish…it is 8 degrees here in New Jersey this morning!
The touches Anne adds are always delightful and imaginative.
Looks like this room has the PAW of approval!
Welcome to the Dining Room.
The Dining Room is always gorgeous…just look at this simple by fabulous setting…
the wonderful thing is that the table is constantly changing…
Once again some gorgeous plates are on the wall and that corner hutch is amazing.
As you might have guessed…this room also changes with the season : )
Time for my favorite room of a home…the Kitchen! What a beautiful one it is! Bright…cheery…and oh so happy!
The glass doors are fabulous…something that I could never have…we won’t get into why ok! Obviously Anne does not have my problem : )
Do you LOVE this POP of Farmhouse Island YELLOW or what!!!!
There is the grain sack stripe detailing again…Love it!
Special touches everywhere.
There is one happy stove and oven!!!!
Happy Happy!
There is another little touch of vintage and farmhouse style! Drop by for a slice of delicious pie and cake when you get a chance and snatch up some incredible recipes!
If you want to do you and your family ONE favor…make this recipe… Starbucks Lemon Loaf …it is so heavenly and divine…simply amazing and that is coming from a chocolate lover!
You are going to love this $100 update on the bathroom…oh and did I mention…1 day! Â Affordable and WOW awesome touches that made the room come alive!
Oh so pretty!
Once again…I am always amazed how a simple blue mason jar with fresh blooms can make a room POP!
If you are in the mood to go to a bed and breakfast but you have no time…how about a visit to the Master Bedroom!
I think you might even find a mint on your pillow!
Such a beautiful room.
I think that this apple slab pie comes with the room ; )
The Family Room is comfy cozy! Drop by and get the details of the fireplace make over!
There is so much more to see here at Sutton Place! Hope you drop by and visit the back porch which is as fabulous as the front porch!
Don’t you love these special touches and the plates…oh those plates!
Then take a peek at the deck…
somebody is looking for you…remember to bring a yummy treat when you visit!
We all want to thank Anne for being such an incredible hostess! So very happy that she invited us all in today and I sure hope you pay her many visits…I am telling you friends…I love the decor…but I am always looking to see what is baking in the oven…it is guaranteed to be amazingly yummy! Anne a big congrats to you and your hubby for all the joy you have created in your home…it looks like Love and that is a good thing!!!
