It’s day two of Weddings In A Jar! Hope you caught Day 1! Don’t forget to visit my friends to see what Wedding Jar ideas they have created…I can guarantee they will be fabulous! Angie from The Country Chic Cottage, Gina from The Shabby Creek Cottage, Desiree from The 36th Avenue and Malia from Yesterday On Tuesday. Today I have a really simple but delightful DIY Coconut Lemon Lime Sugar Scrub. It makes such a great gift for bridesmaids and all the people that helped make your special Wedding Day perfect! It is also a great gift for any time and that is why I am giving you a free printable label that is the basic name and one that says Thank You! Let me tell you how to make this creamy scrub!
–
All you are going to need is a 1 cup of wonderful Coconut Oil, 1 1/2 cups of granulated sugar or if you want to make it a body scrub use turbinado sugar which will give you a higher exfoliating quality and then the zest of 1/2 a lime and 1/2 a lemon. You can always make the scrub with just lemon or lime zest and if you would like…you can use orange or grapefruit too! Place your coconut oil in a mixing bowl…add your sugar & zest…mix until all blended and creamy (a wooden spoon works nicely and to be honest…your hands work well part of the way too!) Yes…it is that easy. One little helpful hint…I placed my coconut oil jar in some warm water just to make it easier to mix…don’t melt it…just soften it and it makes the process easier : ) Now…

All you have to do is print out your label which comes in both mason jar lid sizes that you can download right here…cut it out…place it on top of the lid and screw it on. Then if you would like to make it a touch more pretty…wrap the lid in baker’s twine…washi tape or ribbon…add a bow and even an embellishment if you would like and there you go! A basket of these at the Rehearsal dinner with the thank you printable label would look sensational! Or if you have a special lunch for your bridesmaids..place these at each setting and I am sure you can think of a million more ideas! ENJOY!

Then of course…they make a great gift with the standard printable for any one for any reason or no reason at all!

Can anyone tell me how much this recipe makes?I am making this for my daughter’s bridal shower and need to fill about 40
4 oz. jars.
Hi there Cheryl, how are you. This recipe would fill four 4 ounce jars. Oh and just to let you know…Trader Joe’s has the BEST price on coconut oil : ) If I can help you in any other way…please let me know! Take care…good luck and all the best to your daughter! Hugs…
Hi!
I’ve never made this before, but this looks pretty simple 🙂 THANKS!
I do have a question for you: How long does this last (kept in a bathroom)?
I want to make some for my guest bath so it may not be used right away.
Thanks 🙂
Christine
Hi there Christine! How are you : ) So glad you enjoyed this. The secret to keeping it a long time is to make sure that it is sealed well…aka…just make sure that the top is screwed on tight and it will last a very long time! Hope that helps! : ) You take care now and have an amazing weekend! Hugs!
You’re the best for doing this! Thank you so much! The mason jar lids look amazing!
Hi, this scrub looks amazing and I’m thinking would make a great holiday gift for friends and co-workers. What size mason jar should I use, how far in advance should it be made and once opened what is the shelf life?
Hi there Sharon! How are you. I would suggest a 4 or 8 ounce Mason Jar and you can make it weeks in advance with no problem as long as you seal it tight. Once it is opened… it is good for 4-6 weeks and by that time it will be gone : ) One suggestion. If you are going to make it in advance… take your lemon/lime zest and spread it out on a cookie sheet and just let it air dry for a day. Sure hope your friends and family enjoy the scrub… it really feel amazing and smells yummy too! Take care and have an amazing day!!! Hugs…
