Chop off pieces of your mom’s plant. Stick them in a bottle, mason jar, whatever, with water. Clear is best bc u can see if roots are starting. Pull off the bottom leaves that will be submerged bc theyll get rotted and grody. Leave them for a few months until roots are several inches long. I usually have several cuttings rooting at any given time. When you put the rooted cuttings in dirt, keep it very moist as if it were still in water and slowly reduce the water every week as they get accustomed to their new home in dirt. Good luck. ????
Thank you SOOOOOO much Dana!!! I so appreciate all of your tips and I am using them…you sure made me feel better telling me that they needed to be in the water for a few months and have really long roots…that was so helpful and made me feel much more content. I did one about 3 months ago and it took a very long time to get the root but after about 2 1/2 months I had one with like a 3 inch root and it took to the soil. LOVE the tip about keeping it moist and gradually bring it to a normal watering. Thank you once again for all your help…I have a feeling that I am going to be able to bring the plant back to its original beauty and that makes us all happy including my Mom who is watching from above saying “at least she is trying” lol!!! Sending hugs and wishes for a wonderful day.
I ADORE refurbishing.
