Hello my friends! How are you. I love hearing from you all and I am trying to catch up with my comments… but if you haven’t heard from me… you will soon. Unfortunately… for those who go a back with me here and know that I have had some health problems… I had a large AFIB attack and recouping from it. We thought the ablation took care of it… but it looks like the rare hereditary heart disease I have decided to kick it into high gear! Just a little set-back… just wanted you to know in case you don’t hear from me right away. This weeks charity is our friends at Marley’s Mutts. This group is beyond amazing and what they do and the miracles they have done and will do are heavenly. Remember our little friend Franklin? Well he is going to have another surgery in a week and that is when the second leg will come off. Before you get upset like me… check out the video below and you are going to see how fabulously he is doing and they say that he is the happiest dog alive! I cried for an hour when I saw the video… I could not believe the progress! So he is over half way there and he has the support of an army of wonderful loving hearts. So they need as much as they can get all the time… so I knew you would all love to lend Franklin a helping paw! As always I want to thank each and every one of you for being such a support here at Down The Rabbit Hole… you are ALL THE BEST!!! Sending hugs and love to you all as always!

I loved the houses with living roofs, especially the house with the round, blue door. More living roofs would both beautify and help our environment. I hope for a better 2019…
I follow Marley’s Mutts on IG and these people are heros, what they do is nothing short of a miracle. It can be so difficult to see what humans are capable of doing to animals but seeing the transition these people make happen is so uplifting. As far as Franklyn goes, if you are worried about the double amputation, check out the IG account and look for Cora Rose. She is a double amputee that is living her BEST life! I LOVE these people!
Hi there Michelle! How are you : ) I follow Marley’s Mutts too and I know how amazing they are. Doesn’t it make your heart happy!!! They are my hero’s too along with many other rescue groups that go above and beyond! I know Cora… her story is plain and simple … AMAZING!!! I don’t think I have seen a happier dog in my life! She has no idea that she lost her front legs : ) I just hope and pray that someday ALL the animals in the world will be saved and happy just like Cora! Little Franklin is so precious and I am sure he has an amazing life in front of him because of all the love and care that he is getting! Sending hugs and wishes for an incredible day to you and yours!!!
Great links Andrea! I’ll go check out Marley’s Mutts, they look like a great place! Our boxer Lucy was a tri-paw’d in her last year. Its amazing how little it actually phased her and how well and quickly they adjust! I think it definitely bothers us more than them, they never feel sorry for themselves, they just adjust and move on! And that Franklin is a cutie! Great links this week! I have a few open to go explore. Have a great weekend!

Depending on year, dogs or cats are at top of being the first and second most euthanized pet. Do you know what is number 3? The rabbit. People feel the need to just release them into the woods, put them out in the neighborhoods, or just send them to animal control to put them down. How many times for no other reason other than they’re a rabbit. I’ve been a volunteer with Gainesville rabbit rescue for over 5 years. You’ll be amazed at the work they do to help the community with education, bonding tips, care information, veterinarian care, and in finding bunnies forever homes. Please consider a look at them. http://www.gainesvillrabbitrescue.org. tomorrow they are taking a rabbit to the vet who was thrown down and is experiencing a broken leg at the joint in the growth plate. Does bunny has to have his leg removed. And grr will be there with him through all the pain and all the recuperation and find him the best home for him possible. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Hi there Terri. How are you. I so hear you about the plight of the rabbit. They don’t deserve the way they are treated at all and I thank you for all your volunteering… that is a wonderful thing. I just wanted you to know that we will be featuring Gainesville Rabbit Rescue on The Rabbit Hole this week and I will include the comment that you wrote. Thank you for bringing it to our attention… I am hoping they have a donation that can be made monthly… I am really trying to do that for all of the rescue featured… it keeps the giving going all year round to these wonderful Rescues! I hope and pray that that little Rabbit with the broken leg is going to be hopping around SOON! Sending hugs and wishes for a fabulous day!
