These Easy Home Remedies For Common Daily Problems are quick, easy, budget friendly and safe… plus a lot of times you will find everything you need in the Pantry or Fridge!
Minor injuries or illnesses occur often and sometimes unexpectedly. Instead of running to the drug store, shop at home first. Many household items can act as health remedies. Try out some of these solutions the next time you have a minor ailment. None of these natural remedies can harm you… but if the symptoms continue to persist… remember to see your Doctor.
1. Pomegranate Juice for Heart Health
Drinking a glass of pomegranate juice a day is good for your heart and helps those with low blood pressure. The juice can improve blood flow and prevent your arteries from becoming stiff. It may even slow the growth of plaque and the buildup of cholesterol. Talk with your doctor if you take medications. Some blood pressure medicines, such as statins, can provoke an adverse reaction.
2. Basil Leaves for Acid Reflux
Chewing on a basil leaf after meals can help treat acidity. It aids in the production of mucus, which helps to relieve heartburn and nausea. The leaves also soothe your inflamed esophagus and stomach lining. Plus, it allows your body to absorb food and prevents reflux and ulcers.
3. Watermelon for Summer Headaches
Drinking watermelon juice can help with headaches caused by outdoor fun. Watermelon is made of 92% water and will rehydrate your body. It also contains nutrients like potassium and magnesium. Plus, you may have some watermelon slices left over from a recent barbecue.
4. Cucumber for Skin Care
Placing grated cucumber on your eyes, face, and neck can reduce acne and blackheads. Cucumbers can help cleanse your skin and tighten your pores. Their anti-inflammatory properties can soothe skin irritation from sunburn or bug bites. Cucumbers may even make you look younger by promoting the growth of new cells. So, make it a spa day and invite your friends to do cucumber masks.
5. Water for Whiter Teeth
Drinking plenty of water keeps you hydrated and healthy. Beyond the obvious benefits, it can also help brighten your smile. The liquid rinses away residue from food and other drinks. Water also removes bad bacteria and protects your tooth enamel. To keep your teeth pearly white, limit your consumption of carbonated beverages and opt for water when you can.
6. Turmeric and Salt for Sore Throat
Garling a mix of turmeric and salt can help relieve your sore throat. Mix 1 cup of water with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and turmeric. Don’t eat or drink right after so the salt has time to fight off the bacteria. If you have a dry cough, you can mix turmeric with honey. So, the next time you feel a cold coming on, use this mix to power through your workday.
7. Garlic Juice for Ear Infections
If you feel pain in your ear, a drop of garlic juice can help. Garlic has antibacterial and antifungal properties. You can also buy garlic oil ear drops at certain pharmacies or online. To use the drops, lay on your side with the sore ear facing up.
Then, place a few drops into your ear and cover with a piece of cotton. That way, the oil doesn’t drip out. Then, stay in that position for about 10 to 15 minutes.
8. Baking Soda and Lemon Juice for Body Odor
No one wants to be known as the smelly person. Applying a combination of baking soda and lemon juice can help reduce body odor. This can be a quick solution when you’re running late and don’t have time to shower.
But, regularly keep up with your hygiene routine. Body odors sometimes indicate a more serious illness, such as liver or kidney diseases. If you’re concerned about excessive sweating, speak with your doctor.
9. Peppermint for an Upset Stomach
Peppermint oil can help with irritable bowel syndrome. It helps relax your stomach and prevent spasms in the GI tract. It can also help soothe your headaches. However, too much peppermint can cause heartburn. You can massage several drops of the oil onto your stomach to help with indigestion. Another option is to drink mint tea.
10. Ginger for Nausea
If you have the flu, ginger may be able to help with nausea and vomiting. Ginger aids in digestion and saliva flow. It may also help relieve pain from menstrual cramps. In addition, it could help ease certain chronic pain, such as osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. You can also use ginger for other problems, such as motion sickness or pregnancy nausea. Simply slice fresh Ginger and add it to your tea or make yourself Ginger tea by cutting about 5 1/8 inch medallions and pour boiling water on top… let steep about 3-4 minutes… add a touch of brown sugar if you would like and enjoy… a very pleasant taste.. Ginger is also found in supplements or essential oils.
