I thought it would be fun to take a look at an array of rooms today that are a combination of styles…aka.. ec·lec·tic /iˈklektik/ Adjective Deriving ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources. Noun A person who derives ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources.
If you are like me…you love a lot of different things! It’s kind of like food…sometimes you are in the mood for Italian…another night Mexican or Asian Fusion! Well decor is very much like that…sometimes you love a bit of vintage…or you have your eye on some Country French accessories or maybe a sleek modern couch. Well…I went on a little trip throughout the blogosphere and snatched up an assortment of rooms that serve up more than one course and in some cases…you can say that they are a smorgasborg…a relative buffet of style!
When it comes to decorating a room you might say to yourself…”oh…I can’t mix that in here…but the answer is most …YES you can!
A bit of rustic…some ornate vintage…and a lot of mix and match! One thing for sure it reflects the style of the person/family that lives here…and it works. Oh I can hear my Mother’s voice right now saying oh my goodness…it doesn’t match! : )

Sometimes you might look at a chair that has a BOLD pattern and design and think…I don’t think I can pull that off (kind of like me in red high heels…not happening : ) but in the case of the wild chair or couch…you CAN pull it off…just check this out…that red door just ties this room up with a smile!
How about a space where you just gather your favorite things…a little getaway…a place to read…chat…watch tv surrounded by things you love!

One of the prime elements that brings an array of styles together is color…the highlights of turquoise in many of the items create a unity that might not have existed without that common place…it’s a great thing to keep in mind when you are decorating!
