The Season is upon us and no one waits for the day after Thanksgiving any more to start the Christmas Season. So if you are looking for some fabulous inspiration on how to kick up your Christmas… you are going to love checking out these Christmas Trends for 2021. We spent last Season in lock down so this year is going to be very festive (but be safe)… The biggest trend… It’s all about Homemade! We have become a world of Crafters and everyone wants to show off their creations! I think it is fabulous! So let that inner Artist come out and Create! Create! Create from the heart!!!!!
1. Going Green
It is all about the natural foliage this year. Green… Green…Green everywhere! It doesn’t matter if you go to your favorite Greenhouse for boughs and wreaths or gather your own branches and stems or visit your favorite Florist for all their magnificent creations there! There are tons of sustainable ideas that will make your home more cozy and happy!
2. Light it Up
Yep… LED lights are everywhere and who doesn’t absolutely love tiny little fairy lights… just can’t get enough of them and I bet you feel the same! Well it’s all about lights lights lights this year for sure! Light up that tree… light up those wreaths… light up the mantel… drape strands everywhere and so much more.
3. Advent Calendar Countdown
I personally can not believe the variety of Advent Calendars that are out there… from Commercial to DIY there is a plethora of them! I personally love the ones for kids and I am a bit of a Funko Fanatic and there are so many of them too! Really though… there is something out there for everyone! So if you haven’t had one in years… maybe add one or two or three or more starting December 1st for that big countdown! Commercial or DIY… they are all wonderful… have fun choosing! (The DIY Advent Calendar Featured is such a wonderful idea… homemade stockings that can be made in any style… any color combination… any embellishments and more to fit your family… plus you get to fill each daily stocking with goodies that you know your family will adore… from small toys… to jewelry to yummy candy and more!)
4. Personalized Gifts
Personalized Gifts are hot this year. There is just something about a gift with your name on it… it says this was meant for you and no one else! There are so many choices out there… from a personalized Tumbler for the Mom on the go to a personalized Name Puzzle for that little one in your life and everything in between! Etsy is a great place to find all kinds of personalized gifts… just write what you are looking for in the search and let the shopping begin!
5. House Plants
Christmas Greenery is not the only “in green”… people are crazy for House Plants. I am sure that the interest in plants was heightened by the Pandemic but even as the Pandemic is getting more and more under control… the House Plant reminds highly popular and would make an amazing gift! If you are unable to give your friend or family member a plant in real time… you can easily purchase them on line and they will be delivered with love and care. I personally have purchased plants from Etsy and from The Sill so I can speak for them personally…. the plants were picture perfect (this is not sponsored… just speaking from experience to help you find good places). One thing to be really careful about is is to make sure that the plants you purchase are pet safe for your friends and family that have them… best to be safe than sorry!
6. Sustainability (Eco-Friendly Wrapping)
There are many ways you can make a package pretty and fun that is actually sustainable. I personally love 1 Tree Cards, they plant a tree for each card they sell and on top of that you get a Bee-Friendly Flower Seed Token too… how great is that. You can also be very mindful how you wrap your presents… try using:
- Decorate Brown Bags
- Use Fabric to Wrap Presents
- Master the art of Furoshiki it is an amazing Japanese Art Form of Wrapping.
- Glass Bottles, Mason Jar
- Upcycled Gift Boxes
- Use newspaper or comics to wrap presents (old school but it works and it’s fun)
- Kraft paper (plain or add drawings, stamp it with designs, add stickers, pom poms and more!
- You can also purchase wrapping paper that has been made with recycled paper
You can really make sustainable wrapping beautiful and fun … that way all those shiny bows… plastic embellishments…well they can’t be recycled and end up in land fills. So this is a trend that I hope lasts forever. PS… Furoshiki is my favorite way to wrap… give it a try… oh the possibilities!
7. Subscription Boxes
Yep… these boxes are a hot hot hot gift this year! There are Subscription Boxes for Coffee Lovers, Wine Lovers,Tea Lovers, Gardeners, Crafter, Reader, Artists, Chefs, Foodies, Dogs, Cats, Children, Babies and the list goes on and on and on. So easy to purchase and I guarantee the recipient is going to love love love it! I saw one the other day I would love to get as a gift (so family if you are reading this lol)… there is a Pasta of the Month Club… how awesome is that! This list over at the Strategist should help you immensely. I can personally speak for Bark Box… we have been getting it now for the last 3 years and they are always great. Also… if you have a child to buy for check out the subscription over at Lovevery… it has such high quality age appropriate toys… it is A+ in this families book along with Kiwi Co. and the Little Feminist! Check out their sites and for the age group that applies to your favorite little ones! Gifts that keep giving… can you get better than this! All your gift problems can be answered with a subscription! Enjoy!
8. Navy Trees
Navy is one of the new colors of Christmas! Navy Trees, Trees decorated in Navy, Navy Tablesettings, Navy Mantels, Navy Wreaths and the list goes on and on and on! Who knows… you might try it on and absolutely adore it. I have to say that what I have seen is exquisite! Is Navy and Silver your new Red and Green.
9. Nutcracker Themed Christmas Tree
Another trend happening in the wonderful world of Christmas Trees is Nutcracker Themed Trees! The Nutcracker is such a classic and stands up to the hands of time! Oh the magic that awaits you!
10. Pastel Trees
One more trend that is hot hot hot is Trees draped in pastels! I guess you could call them Cottage Chic Trees! I think this is by far the most beautiful trend this year! Soft gorgeous pastels that simply delights one and all! Just think you could have a tree filled with pastel confections from macarons to cupcakes and everything in between! If you want to go smaller with your pastel trees… why not think about a forest of bottle brush trees… it will delight one and all! One thing I have to add is… my favorite tree is still a tree that is filled with ornaments collected from years gone by and now… you know… the ones with special meaning from the year of marriage… the year of your children’s birth… then there are the ones that remind you of something so special and the ones that just make you happy! Perfect is simply what you love and makes your heart full!
