Sometimes you want a hot homemade cookie but you don’t want a whole batch. Sometimes you want to treat the kids to a warm cookie and milk when they come home from school but you don’t want dozens of them…so why not make up a batch and portion the batter out in ice cube trays…freeze them…put them in a zip lock and you can take out just what you need when you need them. Why didn’t I think of this one? It’s such a natural! For those of you that grow seedlings to plant…a good solid ice cube tray is simple perfection. Just drill a whole…add dirt…plant seeds and watch them grow. A great way to start an herb garden from scratch don’t you think? Thank you Mr. Brown Thumb for this amazing idea!

You can pop some out and make a little Guac or take one out and use it as a spread on your sandwich and so much more. Avocados are SOOOOOO good for you…try to get a little in whenever you can. Another reason I love this is the fact that avocados go bad very quickly after the come to a full ripe…this way…NO WASTE!
The Food Network has a truly brilliant hack…grated ginger and grated garlic. What a great way to always have it on hand! You can also freeze…pesto…roasted garlic…brown butter…caramelized onions…buttermilk…wine and so much more! So think about what you are always reaching for and see if it is freezable…it will make your life so much easier and your food all the more tasty!
Saved my favorite for last. I do a lot of painting and an ice cube tray makes the perfect pallet…it truly does! You can put just a little bit in or a lot…you can mix colors also and if you have to stop and continue your project laster…wrap the tray in cling wrap and it will be ready to use when you are (of course you have to use it within a day : ) You pay so much more for a regular pallet and for a much smaller one…it is a no brainer to add some ice cube trays into your studio! Great for kids crafts also…you can split up the paint for each kid…perfect when a whole group is doing a craft at a Birthday Party or just creating at home. LOVE IT and I know you will too.
