If you love to go junking…if vintage makes you SMILE…if refurbishing an old beat up piece of furniture makes you happy happy…if a thrifty bargain does your heart good…if you love to see what your friends snatch up at Good Will and garage sales…if you adore a good party…well then you are in the right place…it’s time for another episode of…
Junkin Joe!
Well Joe is still on his budget of $5 a weekend visit. What he came up with this week is interesting. I am really thrilled with one of his finds…more books! Another great little donation to the inner city book project…great classics! Then there are a few odds and ends…let’s go check them out…
 A little set of F. Scott Fitzgerald…
open them up and you are instantly transported to another time and place…
 this is an A+ find!
Would you like some butter on that roll?
This is so much cooler than the box we put in the fridge now!
I did a little research and the Lambrecht Dairy is no longer open.
So I am going to hold onto this little vintage gem…I feel like I have a piece of NJ history.
Joe saw these little cutting boards and thought it was a good idea to bring them home…
his thought process was I could make something with them…we will see!
Now here is one that said take me I’m free…so that is what Joe did (no surprise there)…
he thought that I would find it interesting…and that I did! When I turned to this page and saw the chocolate cake batter drips…I wondered who the cook was…what was the special occasion for yummy cream puffs! Maybe it was for a family dessert or a wedding…
then I found a coupon with a great cake recipe on the back…it was sooo cool! I just might have to make it…sounds really good…
so retro bakery : )
So that book that was sitting there for free was actually my favorite find in a long time…I feel like I have a little time machine that is taking me back to this wonderful time…filled with yummy food made with love. My adventures with Rose (that is what I have named my fictional lady…the owner of this cookbook) will continue and if I find a prize recipe…I will be sharing with you!
Well it is your turn…

Hats off to you Joe, this week you have done extra well. I adore the butter jar but I LOVE that cookbook. Andrea will have a fantastic time cooking from that little treasure. Maybe you could sit and read to her while she bakes that yummy chocolate cake ! lol
By the way Andrea, I have some news on my business facebook page I think that you should know about…..

I just finished re-reading that set of books. You will be surprised just how self-absorbed those characters are! Thank you for my blog birthday wishes – I have so appreciated your support. I have been over twice and will need another trip to see all the wonderful finds. If I was near, you would be missing the butter crock about now :>)
Old cookbooks are really the best!!!
I just linked up and typed mermaids too fast – oh, no…..
