Good Morning Good Morning!!! It’s Friday and the second to last day of 2011…make it a good one!
Whatever you do…ENJOY!
Now I know you are busy but I just have a way simple little project…you see I got a little delivery from the postman and it had my Yummy 5 pack of Bakers Twine from TheBakersTwine.com and I had to use some right away…so I got out the delicious blue that compliments the kitchen and made a few little candles to celebrate the New Year…hoping that your flame burns brightly with a little glitter and glow!
(there are a few more ideas at the end for instant glow)
Here is what you need for this quick and cute votive
Choose your favorite color or colors…a bit of twine…a touch of glitter (I used the really fine German Glass glitter…it looks like cookie sugar!)…a glass votive holder…a little candle…some pretty embellishments (I used roses but how about some pretty buttons…some jewels…the possibilities are endless and of course you can use ribbon instead of twine…make it your own! Oh yes…you need your favorite glue…Elmer’s or Modge Podge work great!
Now simple apply the glue around the rim and on the sides (as far as you would like and then…
dip in your favorite glitter! One little thing that I want to share…use your finger to mold the glitter where you want it really finishes the look…you can also apply multiple layers…you will know the look that you are going for!
Now simply wrap your twine around the base a few times…tie a little bow…apply the flower and viola…ready to light!
Simple and pretty…you can jazz it up by simply adding a base or candle stick in the house…
(let it dry well…I rushed a little as you can see above : ) it is repaired now!
You can do this with thrift find stemware…tea cups…just about anything you would like! One rule though…have fun and let your light shine Brightly!
Here are a few quick samples without the glitter and they are just simply pretty…you can have one in a second by just adding a little votive…
A pretty little tea cup instantly turns into a candle…this is also a little preview of Joe’s Fabulous Finds!
A vintage piece of stemware with a little votive candle creates such an elegant and beautiful shine! So just open the closet…add a little candle and let it shine!
Till tomorrow…sending tons of
(((HUGS)))

Hi Andrea-thanks for stopping by my blog to comment, and for the following…followed you back and I’m so glad I did. You are giving me such great ideas with the sweet little crafts, and candle holders.
To think I’m a thrifter, and kept passing up the pretty little tea cups and saucers each time, because I did not find at least another matching set. One is enough to put a simple little candle in and brighten it up. Also, the twine, and the glitter is so cute, and crafty.
We have a Michael’s craft store near by, now I will keep my eyes open for more ideas…coming from you!
Have a Happy, and healthy New Year!
Hugs,
