Morning to you! Hope everyone is enjoying their week! A bit crazy at my house but that is truly not something new!
Today I have a little project that has been around for a long time…but I thought it was fun and I have a new way of displaying the final project that I think you will enjoy. It makes a perfect gift from the heart for him! Oh it looks so strange to me having browns and dark greens on a post…but it’s nice to do something for the men in our lives! These are great for your husband, father, son, brother, friend…just about anyone! You can have tons done in a flash once you get started! So hope you enjoy pinning the old fashion way!
A Valentine’s Day Gift for Him
Let’s turn a page or two of a vintage dictionary and give those pages new life!
All you need is some modge podge…glass gems (I like the small ones for the thumb tacks but while you are at it you can create some matching magnets with the large ones : ) a brush…a good strong glue (real HOT glue also works but make sure it is HOT:) some regular thumbtacks…some cork (comes in sheets at Michaels…use your 40% coupon and get a pack of 10 for $6.00:)…dictionary pages or any other decorative paper…I also love using the NY Times crossword puzzle… and then a simple frame from the dollar store.
Now simply place your gem on top of the area you want to show and trace…when you cut them out cut inside the line…they will be much too large if you cut on the line…just a hint so you don’t have to trim later…
Now simply take your modge podge and brush it onto the flat side of the glass (make sure to use nice clean and shiny gems) then place your cut piece onto and gently press all the way around to adhere…let dry…
repeat…repeat…once you have all of them glued and they are dry…brush a thin layer of modge podge ontop of each one to secure the paper and once again allow to dry (only takes minutes if that). After they are all dry trim with your scissors if you need to.
Time to attach the thumbtack…simply apply your glue of choice and viola! (you don’t need tons of glue…just a dab…that way you don’t have the nasty spill on the sides : )
repeat…repeat…allow to dry and then…
you have these and they are ready to be packed up for your gift!
A traditional tin tied up with some bakers twine is always a good idea but…
I think this is much more fun! I simply took a little 4X7 dollar store frame…removed the glass…cut my cork to fit in the back side…glued it to the board…placed back into the frame and pinned my thumbtacks in! Wrap it up in your own special way with a tag and you have a great little gift for any occasion! Now looking at it I should have made one red heart in one 🙁 sorry but at least I thought of it now!
So there you have it…a fun little Valentine for HIM!
See you tomorrow my friends for
Thankful Thursday
I am also doing a Blog Hop Party that should be fun!

Great and simple gift idea Andrea. I guess you could always tie a red ribbon around the frame to give to your Valentine or pin a red card heart to the board. He’s sure to love it!
