Here are More Secrets For Saving at Target. Target is one of the most popular shopping destinations in the United States. Here are some more ways to save!
It’s famous for the plethora of ways you can get discounts and rebates when shopping there. You can save a lot just by going through the clearance shelves. But that’s only a portion of the good deals you can get.
Here are some of the ways you can save money at Target:
Travel Size Bins
There are great deals to be had, if you read coupons carefully and find the ones with no size restrictions.
Use those coupons on travel sized items and you can often end up with free items.
Rebates
There are a lot of free rebate apps out there that just ask you to upload a picture of your receipt in the app and they reward you with money or points you can cash in for gift cards.
But, why just use one? You can use multiple apps and get even more money back on your Target purchases.
Clearance tags
Make sure you know how to read the tags to get the best deals.
The red clearance stickers have a number in the top right corner, that number indicates the percentage off the original price.
If it’s a 20 then the item has been marked down 20% off the original price. This way you know how much you’re saving and if it’s a deal or a dud.
Don’t be fooled by 2fer pricing
Often Target has sale sign that says 2 for $1, or 2 for $4. But, don’t be fooled.
Much like the 10 for $10 at the grocery store – the price is $1 each, you don’t have to buy 10 to get that price.
When Target says 2 for $4, it means you can buy 1 for $2. It’s psychological warfare out there folks, don’t be fooled by their mind games lol.
Price Cuts
Target has 2 kinds of price cuts but both of them are displayed on very similar signs.
There is a permanent price cut and a temporary price cut. So, a permanent price cut is well.. permanent.
However, a temporary price cut at Target is usually just for 14 days, so grab that deal while it’s still available and stock up.
Markdowns
Most stores will mark things down on the same days.
Here are the days specific department markdowns usually happen at most Target stores:
- Monday: accessories, baby, books, electronics, kids’ clothing, stationery
- Tuesday: domestic goods, food, pets, women’s clothing
- Wednesday: diapers, furniture, health & beauty, lawn & garden, men’s clothing
- Thursday: decor, houseware, lingerie, luggage, shoes, sporting goods, toys
- Friday: auto, cosmetics, hardware, jewelry
You also need to know that if a price ends in the number 8, it can still be marked down further. But if the number ends in 4 it is as low as it is going to get marked down so it is time to scoop it up!
