Holly over at Coconut Heads Survival Guide shares some really important stuff about going RED!!! This is a cause near and dear to my heart…7 years ago in February I had massive open heart surgery…not by-pass…but part of the heart had to be thinned and a mechanical mitral valve put in all due to a rare hereditary disease called Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. Thanks Holly for sharing and ladies…GO RED!!! : )

Hi Andrea – I love the new party and the new look! Always up for a group pinterest board too. I had no idea about your heart surgery, thank you for sharing and for your kind feature. Ironically, my mom was back in the hospital with a heart attack and diagnosed with congestive heart failure. She is doing much better and will be here today to help with the fundraiser. Hi Holly…thanks for sharing…know that I am sending tons of hugs…prayers and positive thoughts to you and your Mom. I am so happy to hear that she is doing better. My problem stemmed from a hereditary situation and I consider myself very fortunate since sudden death is a big part of this disease and I played racketball and more so I am fortunate to have found out about it. Thank God that the heart was completely clean…no blockages…no build up…(the docs said that being a vegetarian probably saved my life : ) the heart just hardened and smashed the mitral valve…they actually had to remove the heart and removed the hardened area…I am a luck camper and then they used a mechanical valve because I am too young to go through surgeries every 10 years so I have to be on coumadin…but one day the blood got too thin and i had a massive brain bleed and was out cold for over 3 weeks and not expected to live…the best case scenarios was severe disability…mental and physical and some how… I am here with no side effects! So I truly believe your Mom will be fine…just make sure she takes care of herself and that I know you will do because you ROCK!!! GO RED! : ) HUGS as always! You are such an inspiration for so many!

Its been a few months, I have been out of the loop due to our own family illness, dealing with my sister going through chemo as of late and have had my creative endeavors on the back burner. I thoroughly enjoy your crafty round ups in my inbox they always help brighten my day! And so glad to hear you are doIng well and on the mend!

Hi there Betsy! So happy you like the new look! It needed to be freshened up : ) The party started because my husband was dropping by the Thrift Shop while out on errands and bringing things home and I would show it to my thrifty followers…so it made sense then…but he only goes once in a blue moon now because we have officially run out of room and probably donated 2/3’s of it back lol!!! So we kept his name it for old times sake…but it is all new now but the same at heart! Just so please you like it. Hugs…
