These Quick and Easy DIY Farmhouse Dollar Store Coasters are so easy to make so why not make them for you and then maybe some stacks as gifts!
We are back again with yet another Quick and Easy DIY Farmhouse Dollar Store Hack… this time it is all about Coasters! All you need are 4 supplies and you will be whipping out Farmhouse Style Coasters out of Dollar Store Nautical Rope! It’s a super simple project and oh so budget friendly. You really won’t believe how simple it is! Let’s get to it : )
As always we are starting with the supplies. You will need Dollar Store Nautical Rope (I get two large coasters or 3 smaller one from one skein)… a Glue Gun… Glue Sticks and a Scissors.
This is truly the trickiest part of the whole project. To create the beginning of the spiral … place a small thin line on the rope and press the rope on the other piece as you were starting a spiral. Then add another line of glue and continue the spiral. Once you get a small spiral it is time to proceed…
now continue growing the spiral (one big suggestion is to add the glue and then move the rope to form the spiral while pressing down on a flat surface.) Just keep going until you get to the size you want it to be. One full rope skein make the perfect size trivet as you can see in the pictures below.
When you reach the right size … cut the rope on a diagonal (it helps to make the rope disappear instead of having an abrupt end.) Then add some glue and press the rope as hard as you can to form the perfect edge.
These are soooooooo durable!
Great for HOT STUFF!
Perfect for drinks!
Make them by the dozen for parties!
Wrap a bow around 4 of these cuties stacked and they make the perfect gifts!
Hope you enjoyed this little Dollar Store Hack! So enjoy making those coasters and trivets… they last like forever!
