A touch of cottage…simple little things you can do to bring some cottage charm into your home!

Want to add a little cottage charm to a room?  How about a large whitewashed vintage mirror?  Perhaps a vintage crystal chandelier? Add some vintage chairs with your favorite upholstery!  Vintage finds like the little side table will always look beautiful and adding fresh flowers is always winning choice.
When you go to your next flea market…check out your home and think about where you would like to add a something special and keep that in mind as you look at all of the treasures.

Hardwood floors are magnificent…but when you see an extraordinary area rug it can transform the whole character of the room in an instant…this photo shows you exactly what I mean : )
There are some great ways to use your vintage and flea market finds here in this room…I love how the little table holds fruit which ties in the colors in the pillows and the blue goblet ties in the blue.  Sometimes I am just amazed what these tiny little touches can do!

If you are fortunate to have a magnificent curio like this one you can add charm all year long by changing out your collections…a great way to feature all of your fabulous finds and family heirlooms.  During the holidays you can add tons of seasonal charm.  It’s a great place to show off your linens and lace too.

Now this eclectic room has a ton of personality and charm.  a vintage chaise…a shabby armoire…a weathered little table…piles of pillows and a soft and inviting blanket. Then a TOTAL surprise is the modern polka dot area rug…sometimes the unexpected just pulls the room together and may I say that the colors in this rug are perfect…this shows that vintage goes with modern when the right pieces are used : )  This space says FUN and HAPPY!!!

When looking for a sure fire way of adding that cottage touch to your home…you just can’t go wrong with white and weathered!
