What is Take 5 you ask…well it is a collection of 5 things that I think you will all enjoy! It can be themed…random…food…crafts…home decor and everything in between. Hopefully you will love them enough to take 5 minutes out of your busy day… relax and enjoy! Today it is all about …
What do you look for at Flea Markets… Goodwill …Garage Sales?
Today’s Take Five is just for fun! I would love to know what you look for when you are hitting the Flea Market Trail!
Could it be…
Beautiful Vintage Enamel Coffee Pots that make
Cottage Collectors swoon?
Or maybe it is vintage bling that you desire! Oh the magic that can be created from these beauties!!!
How about vintage scales and other vintage kitchen treasures? These are so wonderful as part of vignette or on your counter with fruit or flowers. They look fabulous all chippy and worn or with a new coat of your favorite paint…great finds!
Now what about vintage tin…it’s a really lucky day when you find some that in beautiful condition but still have a touch of pantina or some little age spots…gives it character.
There is nothing like finding vintage silver at a bargain. I see some pieces I love in this one…those cake servers are magnificent…truth be told…I have three of them from my Mom and I use them to cook with…really…I feel like she is with me! There are so many incredible crafts that can be created with these beauties…artwork and then there is always the mismatched place settings which are awesome!
Inquiring minds want to know…what do you look for???

I have my grandmother’ American Family scale in red, but the turquoise one is to die for! I am currently looking for small wooden boxes with typography though I do not turn down enamelware!
LOVE this take 5! My favorite one so far since I am an antique dealer/repurposer! I dont look for anything in-particular, its basically whatever catches my eye. Lately I have been getting a lot of old chippy medicine cabinets. I also have picked up some old prim wooden boxes that have a great patina, chippy ANYTHING will catch my eye though 🙂 I have posted a few of my flea market finds lately so come on over when you have time to see them! Have a good night!
I love that you cook with your mother’s silver. That’s so sweet! I look at everything when I go thrifting and let the junk speak to me. LOL!
I look for all kinds of things although I am trying NOT to look so much anymore. I love transferware and linens…and all sorts of other things!;>) xo Diana

Have a great weekend, Andrea!

Oh I just looooove those treasures!
I always look for teapots and teacups, then hit the baskets area or handblown jugs. Keep peepers open for ironstone or real vintage old Ball jars. You know, basically what everyone ELSE is looking for as well!
Then go over to sometimes find vintage linens or aprons.
Those are my ALWAYS look-fors………..after that I scrutinize it all and hopefully find a treasure or two. I never EVER find silver around here, nope, not once.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Those strawberry cups are so cute!!
