my friend Lisa from SweetTalkShop
just filled me in that this is called Moss Rose…
delicate and pretty
a pretty little stack
we can all enjoy a delightful cup of tea
I do believe that he did very well with this little find ($3.00) Service for 6…not bad! After taking a visit to Ebay where Lisa told me to go to to take a peek…well Joe did FABULOUSLY!!!! I am keeping these and using them for pretty little accents and maybe a pincushion…a tea candle holder!
ok…this is a beauty but I have to tell you that it brought some sadness and a few tears…it came home in a crummy old box…worn and torn…dirty and yucky…yes there were even a few little dried bugs at the bottom…there were some other things in the box which I will show you another time…I picked up this large piece of crystal that was let’s say…filthy and my heart kind of sank…I am sure this box was dropped off after the death of some special little Mom or GrandMom…It just made me feel very sad that someone could just discard them like that…but then I carefully took the little treasures from the box and brought them to the counter and gave them a good hot bath with plenty of soap and their beauty just came shining through…a second life…they will be with someone that loves them again and whoever that little lady was that loved them before is smiling in the heavens! Good job Joe!
shining glory! (this beauty is 1 foot tall)
beautiful vintage crystal with tons of detail
the base is gorgeous and looks perfect just as is or it could be filled with something special…
I am going to call this the FIND of the WEEK…check it out…the flowers are totally in tact! No breakage…all in their original beauty…
picture perfect…drum roll please……………………………$.99 Joe gets applause for this one!
Hope you enjoyed Joe’s premiere! My son was so right…he loves the attention…he keeps asking me what did you put up today…hinting to find out if I started his feature started…he just walked by and he is smiling! Hope you enjoy his little adventures…he will be back next week in his new regular FRIDAY programming!
Sending
(HUGS)
to all…

He did fabulous with the tea set find!!! My Granny has hoards of that collection she has been collecting since I think she was born. LOL Anyhoo, I’ve run across it a few times in FL and it is more like $3 for a saucer. Enjoy!!!

I love how you feel about the discarded things you find at the thrift. I feel the same way about the things I find! The very saddest thing is photos of families. No one left who knows who they are or has anyone to pass them on to…I have bought pictures at times just because I felt so sad for them lying in a discarded pile! Once, someone lovingly handled them and passed them around, pointing out people or events.Once, someone poured a cup of tea in that cup, or arranged flowers in that vase. I’m a big sap I know but I love memories and family things. nice to know there’s someone else out there who thinks like I do!

Bravo, Joe, bravo! I’ll be sure to share this post with my hubby, Chris, when he arrives home from work later today. Maybe, just maybe, this is the leverage I need to get him to come ‘thrifting’ with me, Andrea. Hugs!

How fun that your husband is playing along! I pestered my hubby (he’s a great, funny writer) and gave him the Sunday slot. Wasn’t sure if he would get into it … but all of a sudden he’s turning in copy to the editor (me!) without any prodding. I think he may have caught the blogging bug!

Oh i am so glad Basil is getting better each day.
I am so jealous of your junkin Joe-man he has gotten some beautiful things.
I am so glad I am not the only one that tries to think of the past owners and why people discard or didn’t want the things.
Thanks for sharing
