Hi everyone…it’s Friday and time for another episode of
Junkin Joe! Guess what…next week we are going to have our first JJ Linky Party! We will be celebrating vintage and thrifty finds and all things created with them also! Once a month on the first Friday we can look forward to showing off our cool stuff! Hope all of you come and join in!
Now one thing I need to say…I was feeling really down yesterday…why? I have watched my stats go down for a little bit now…and I know they don’t mean everything but they do help us know if we are approaching our blogs from the right angle : ) Well after giving myself a little pity party…I started to put some things together…many people have said that I have not been coming up in their feeds…then I got a message from a wonderful reader saying that she thought I was on hiatus…hmmmmmm…annoying…yes…but maybe just maybe this is the source of the lower numbers and I am looking into in depth now. So I ask any of you that have had a problem with The Cottage Market getting through…just shot me off an email! I will get to the bottom of this soon! But I feel a little bit better that there is a problem — isn’t that funny!
Well you are here for the finds so let’s get to them…JJ decided to play “PICKER” this week! Yep…kind of Mike and Frank style…so even though it pains me to say this…NO PINK!!! Thought he would go some place new and try to find something out of the ordinary with a budget of $20…see what you think!
There is one piece of elegance though!
One more note (I am sorry for being so wordy today) I am showing you all of the items in the condition they were bought…I had some friends ask if they could see the pieces as is and today’s the day!
Well if you watch Pickers…you know that Frank would snatch this up in a heartbeat…
I think after a good cleaning and a bit of a manicure this has potential…
what would you do with this? To be honest I am thinking watering can???
Cool vintage cicle…
I find it interesting to just look as these old pieces…it is so wonderful that the rusting process creates a beautiful pantina…
the other fascinating thing is how these tools where made…with such care and quality…not sure what we will be doing with it…but it sure is a little work of art in its own way.
Check it out!
a vintage wooden thermometer…
once again the care that it is made with is amazing…
it works too!…Joe had this in the garage where the temps got a bit HIGH!!!
A cool or should I say a HOT find!
Time for a touch of elegance…
this is the second coffee pot beauty he has come home with…don’t you just love the pantina and the detailing…once this beauty gets cleaned up she will SHINE!!!
can I pour you a cup?
AWESOME!!!
oh she has so much age…
talk about patina…
she has such character…
real beauty…do I restore or paint…what’s your vote???
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think this Picnic Basket is actually larger than the one that YOGI and BOO BOO dream of!
look at this weaving…how awesome…
the condition is amazing and the man that brought it in said that it was at least 50 years old…
I think JJ was Smarter than the AVERAGE Bear by snatching this up…unfortunately it did not come stocked…but we can fix that! This piece needs a light cleaning and she is good to go!!!
I personally would just love if all of these vintage pieces came with audio…could you imagine the stories they would tell…that is what I think about when I look at each one of them…if they could only talk!
Well…can you believe that there is no pink? no roses? I still hope you enjoyed this episode of JJ…Pickers tribute! We don’t watch many of the TV shows that focus on this kind of thing…but we do love to watch Pickers and American Restoration (I think JJ secretly would love to be able to take a vintage piece and restore it to it’s original state…but for now that is what the shows are for : )
Hope to see you next week for the
FIRST JUNKIN JOE LINKY PARTY!!!
We can’t wait to see your finds and your creations!!!
