It’s Friday my friends and that means that it is time to check in on Junkin Joe! (every time I see that name I just sit here and shake my head : ) Well he has been busy and has taken to adding this all important responsibility to his Saturday routine without a peep or complaint : ) You see my son was so right…he is lovin it!!! He will say to me…did they ask about me on the blog…hey it keeps him junkin!
This find needs a little back story (not much…don’t worry)…Joe went off last Saturday and he was gone a bit longer than usual…so like every good wife I checked my bank account and was able to see just where he was and how much he had spent…I know I am terribly right? I saw that the Salvation Army bill was a bit higher than usual and I started to wonder…what did he find? Well he comes home and he says…I hope you are not mad at me but I saw this box and there was a teapot popping out of it and it had something pink on it. I immediately said to the man I will take that please. The gentleman said well I am going to have to charge you $19.99. I know that is not a lot but a bit more than he has been spending. Joe said sure and thank you. I mean it was old but more importantly it had pink on it…what’s a man to do! So when Joe came in he said…hope you are not going to kill me…ok…fast forward to opening up the FIND…remember this particular find was $19.99 I will let you be the judge of if I was happy or not…
Let’s start with the Beautiful Teapot…creamer and sugar bowl (in just about perfect condition I might add)
a little closer look…
well this tea set did not come alone…4 perfect cups and saucers…
aren’t they pretty…
not only did the set come with teacups and saucers…4 beautiful cake plates were in that box also…
How beautiful is this…drum roll please…
pretty good Junkin Joe…This pattern was retired between 1962-65 and you can take a peek at what it is going for on Replacements but I will let you know that the teapot goes for $169.00 with the lid on Replacements…the total find equals close to $500.00 Junkin Joe gets a WAY TO GO on this one don’t you think?
ok…I don’t want you to be jealous at all…so I will share another thing that was in the box…a bit of a white elephant that he thought might be vintage!
nice try Junkin Joe but no cigar lol!
love this kind of find…can’t wait to transform this one…stay tuned…oh yes…$.79
some more ornate vintage goodness just waiting to get a make-over…
lots of detail to shabby up…you will see them soon I promise!
these little twins $.99
isn’t she pretty…
even prettier closer up…I am doing some research on this one…dated 1961…no matter…for $.99 I love it one way or another!
all and all I am giving Joe and A plus!
stay tuned next Friday for another chapter of
he say’s HI!!!
Take care now my friends…sending
(((HUGS)))
see you tomorrow for a little week in review…

Nice job Junkin Joe! I am so jealous of your ornate frames. I got a few, much more boring frames, at goodwill when I was in the states. I paid $2 and now I feel ripped off!! Great finds!!

Oh boy, that would be the day that my hubby would ever go into a thrift store alone. lol! Sure, he’ll go in with me (more to humor me I think), but he wouldn’t ever buy anything for himself. Can’t complain though, he’s so easy going and never says anything about what I drag home. Junkin Joe did WAY good on the darling pink tea set. LOVE, LOVE it! Visiting from Knick of Time. Now a new follower.

What a fun post! I love the finds. Unfortunately, our local thrift shop has decided they’re Norstroms/Macys or something- their prices have gone up 4X. I used to get such find there.
