Vintage Upcycle Project DIY’s

How about some Vintage Upcycle Inspiration this morning?  The garage sales have started…Flea Markets are buzzing and even the roadsides are piling up with some little piles of goodness.  I have my radar out for drawers…any kind…any size!
Let’s see what some of our creative blogger friends have been cooking up!
If you are someone that loves to collect license plates…how cool is this!  Have you ever thought of cutting the plates up to make name plates?  How cool would that be!  So when you see them at a market or wherever…you just might look at them with possibility instead of saying…these are cool but what would I do with them???
Rancho Reubidoux
shares an amazing idea…this show you even if you see something that is not working or maybe doesn’t have all it’s pieces…it still can be amazing…check out these vintage rotary fan covers and see what they have become…hot …trending and FABULOUS succulent wall gardens!  Color me impressed!!!  Check out the full DIY!!!
Over at
Stars Masquerading
you will find some wonderful inspiration like this incredible door/table…how cool does this look!  Just by taking a door…giving it an awesome paint treatment of your liking and continuing the creativity on a table and shelf you can have a unique and striking original one of a kind piece of furniture that will catch everyone’s eye for sure.  Oh so many possibilities!
Over at Sweet Southern Vintage I saw this piece…I so wish it came with a DIY…but I wanted you to see it…so if you see a vintage soda crate…this is another possibility of creativity…adding some vintage cigar boxes…and spools…you have something so incredibly unique and awesome!  Don’t ever let a vintage soda crate pass you by if it is a fair price…they offer a world of vintage wonder : )
What’s Cooking!
Old pots…pans…pie plates…magically become the coolest bird feeder on the block!
How about decorating with vintage toys?
So easy…so awesome!
 Junk Chic Cottage
takes a piece of vintage and decorates the outside garden area around her husbands shed…he is a fire chief so how appropriate is this…LOVE IT!
This would make a great planter too!
Over at Mamie Janes
you can see old crates become shelves…
…an old wood mower handle become a display shelf for vintage hose nozzles and there is SO MUCH MORE TO SEE!!!
Do you love old cheese grates?  I have seen them used for a lot of different things…but I am in love with this great idea from
Good Housekeeping.
Collect these special pieces of vintage and then arrange in a little vignette on a silver tray…a vintage piece of china…a pretty tray and make sure to add some special touches and candles…the glow from these are just amazingly beautiful.  Talk about SIMPLE!!!
My Grandmother would say…no no…this is for the pecorino romano…what are you doing!!!! 🙂
How great is this idea.  If you are lucky enough to find a little staircase…don’t let it pass you by…it can be perfect for everything you want to display in a very unique way!  Love this idea…just wish they were a little easier to come by.
I have seen metal vintage headboards used for a lot of things…but never a garden gate…how ingenious is this!
What does HGTV do with 4 doors??? Well make a cool shed of course and all of your Doctor Who Fans…this could be an out of this world Tardis!
Here is a perfect cup of tea for the birds!
Such a beautiful creation and will give back 10 fold when your winged beauties flock to your yard!
Intimate Weddings
shows us how.
How about vintage suitcases that go BOOM!!!
Talk about cool shelving! 2 shelves from one table…think about it!
Want more inspiration…check out Purehome
If you are looking for some cool inspiration…you have to take a trip over to Blogesteix
you will find things like this…
and like this…and so much more! INSPIRATION beyond belief!!!
BHG has had yet another brilliant idea!
Now how many ideas are you coming up with right now looking at this!!!!  Awesome!

The cut in half tables as shelving are pretty cool! I don’t know if I’d have the heart to do it, though! 🙂

I love the Sweet Southern Vintage soda crates shelf! There’s a lot of character and rustic style to that piece. Have you ever tried to make a shelf from wooden wine crates? They’re so chateau-chic! If your looking for original wine crates to make your own shelving or to add a nice wine-themed accent to your kitchen visit Winepine.
