Summer time means extra heat, sweat, and humidity. All of those can be a real bummer for your normal routine. Thankfully, I have ten summer beauty hacks that will help you look great, all season long!
Use a Sugar Scrub Before Shaving
Homemade sugar scrubs are super easy to make and work well on exfoliating your skin. When you’re getting ready for a day out in shorts, prep your skin with a sugar scrub. It’ll take off all that dead skin you don’t even realize is there. That extra step gets you that much closer to having silky smooth legs. Once the scrub is washed off, shave your legs as you normally would.
Finish Your Shave with Deodorant
I’m not talking armpits here. It’s a real pain to go through the exfoliating and shaving and then to end up with razor burn. This nifty little hack will keep that from happening! Once you’re done shaving and have washed everything off, pat your bikini area dry. Avoid rubbing the towel roughly against your skin. Then using stick deodorant, gently run it along your bikini area. This should prevent any of those obnoxious red bumps from showing up.
Your Chest will also Benefit from a Little Deodorant
With all the heat and activity that summer brings with it, you’re destined to sweat. But that doesn’t mean you have to suffer from all that sweating can do to you. It’s not hard to get heat rash or other annoying and irritating bumps under your sweating chest. Before you get dressed for the day, run a little stick deodorant under your breasts – then get dressed as normal. This will help with under-boob-sweat!
Get Yourself Some Kool Aid
For a quick and cheap lip color solution, try Kool-Aid powder. This uses the small packets of Kool-Aid (the kind you need to add sugar to if you were to make the drink). Lick your lips. Pick a color you like and with a wet finger, dip into the Kool-Aid powder. Apply to your lips. Now, this will stain your lips – meaning it might not be easy to get off right away.
Get Salty Beach Hair Without Actually Going There
Unfortunately, we don’t all get to chill at the beach whenever the whim hits us, but that doesn’t mean we can’t look like we have. In a spray bottle, add 2 cups of hot water, a teaspoon of sea salt, a teaspoon of melted coconut oil, and a teaspoon of hair gel. Shake thoroughly. Spritz this on your hair and style with your hands. Dry with a hair dryer. Enjoy your summery beach hair!
Tame Those Wild Flyaways
Get your hair exactly the way you want it, but taking care of any wispy hairs out of place. Using a toothbrush, spray a little hair spray on it. Brush those flyaways back into place. The hairspray will keep them where they should be, so you can look flawless all day long!
Need a Quick Fix for Oily Hair
Baby powder works great as a dry shampoo. So if you need to refresh your hair a bit and you don’t have time to wash it, apply baby powder. Using a large makeup brush, apply it to your roots first and work your way down your hair. Rub it in a bit, shake off any excess, and enjoy good looking hair once again!
Keep Baby Powder in Your Beach Bag
After all that fun in the sun, no one wants to track the beach back with them. Sprinkle baby powder on your legs (or any other part you’re trying to get sand off of), using your hand or a towel, wipe your skin and watch the sand fall right off! A trial size bottle is a perfect fit for your beach bag or purse.
Get a Temporary Tattoo Thanks to the Sun
Doesn’t matter if you’re on the beach or sunbathing in the backyard – this summer beauty hack is a must try. Before laying down to catch some rays, apply sunblock in a shape such as a heart, star, or sun. Once you’re done tanning, wash off the sunblock. Enjoy a cute tattoo that goes away with time.
Be Prepared for Getting Too Much Sun
When you get a sunburn, it’s nice to have remedies on hand rather than having to wait and buy or make something. So this beauty hack is perfect for those ‘what if’ sunburn moments. Take aloe vera and squeeze it into an empty ice cube tray. Pop it in your freezer. Then, whenever you get burnt, take out one of the cubes and rub it on the area. The cold and the aloe will both help your burn.
Want to stay in the know? I’d really love that! (((HUGS))) |
